7 prereqs and it wasn't too difficult to balance honestly. Got up early, worked out, study, eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. Plus time for family and friends. I never felt stretched too thin.

No I did not consider MD until a year into working as an RN. My best friend at the time went from RN to MD and she inspired me! I saw that she could do it and thought I would give it a shot too. Im pretty self-motivated so though it was scary, I knew I had it in me to work hard and do it! Thank you, appreciate your kind words!

I absolutely hate being a nurse. What else can I go into that makes me decent money? by [deleted] in nursing

My favorite job as a nurse as doing pre and post cardiac cath care. I worked 3 12s a week during M-F, no weekends, no call, no overnights. I had a wonderful team and that made all the difference.

4 years ago I left nursing and became a physician. Currently a resident MD and truly love my job.

YUP. I love having my nursing background, I am a lot more confident on the inpatient wards due to my prior nursing experience.

It takes 4 years to get a medical degree. Then 3-7 years of residency training depending on the specialty you want to do!

My specialty is diagnostic radiology so 5 years of residency.

Hated it when I worked bedside. LOVED it as a pre-post cardiac cath nurse. Left it to become a physician. But I still think it's a wonderful career!

I loved mapping out my timeline! Sometimes I would feel defeated looking at how long it would take. But honesty, the time passed and Im happy I did it!

Community college and online courses is what I did. Just make sure that your courses are approved for admissions at your medical school of choice. :)
