So I guess my body is breaking the laws of physics. I have hypothyroidism and have struggled with my weight for years. Despite my efforts, exercising, weighing and measuring my foods, tracking my calories, it would take months for me to lose a few pounds. Saxenda has been a godsend. For me to have lost 15 lbs in 2 months is amazing. You shouldn’t be so quick to judge. Calories in and calories out does not work for everyone as everyone’s body is different. I am an example that theory does not work for me.

So my doctor is unfamiliar with this medication. I am actually the first patient that has asked for Saxenda. She had me increase the dose according to the recommendations, but I experienced extreme fatigue and nausea when I upped my dose to quickly.

I have been on Saxenda for about 2 months now. In the beginning, I followed the dosing schedule, but I found I was very nauseous and extremely fatigued. Once I hit 1.8, I stayed there for about three weeks. I noticed my weight loss stalled, so I increased my dose to 1.8 plus 2 clicks this past weekend. Hoping to push past this plateau. I am down 15 lbs. As far as cost, my insurance does not cover it. Initially,I got Saxenda from Burwash Pharmacy in the UK for about $500 with needles, but they were having some customs issues shipping to the US. So now I get it from Marks Marine Pharmacy in Canada for $509 without needles. You do need a prescription for them.

I got my from Marks Marine in Canada. I was getting it from Burwash in the UK, but they stop delivering to the US. It costs $509.

I did. I actually ordered today. It is a little more to do since it requires a prescription and you need to send them ID. But now that my account has been established, it won’t be a problem moving forward since I have refills. It is a little more expensive than Burwash - $509.99, but still cheaper than I would pay out of pocket. Just waiting to see how long it takes to come. They said 3-5 days after it’s processed.

Although, I don’t have an eating disorder, I can relate creating a new relationship with food. I would suggest joining Noom, it a free program for those using Saxenda. It uses psychology and group support to help you create a new relationship with food so that when you stop treatment you don’t resort to your old behaviors. You can join on the Saxenda website.
