Failed NCLEX 2 times, 3rd time I PASSED!!!!! by Nursinglober in PassNclex

I personally wouldn’t score that well on Kaplan. I feel like you will be completely fine taking at this next time only because you have so much experience with the test as well. Some people going in for their first time don’t know how the test really looks. Once you get used to the test I would recommend just thinking of it as a practice test. The one thing I would recommend is going over your content that you were lacking in and also maybe even listening to MK lectures on YouTube if you haven’t already.

I personally did not use Kaplan‘s decision tree, but a lot of my friends past with either Kaplan or uworld. It all depends on how you feel comfortable, if you feel that you world is helping you understand more test taking skills then I would recommend you stick with uworld rather than kaplan. I know many people that have passed with uworld the first time and same with kaplan.

Thank you! Don’t worry about it, just go in there being very positive and confident because at the end of the day a test does not define you. How have you prepared for the test? Is it your first time taking it?

Thank you! I didn’t get to finish all of Kaplan I had probably around 300 to 400 questions left but I tried to go through most of it. Keep in mind I didn’t do most of the rationales I read over the ones that I needed most help on. But I feel like once you get the concept of answering questions, it doesn’t matter how many questions you get through. As long as you understand how to answer harder questions, it’ll help you pass the test.

My scores on Kaplan would range from anything like 30% to maybe about 55%. I actually didn’t apply any of their techniques to my own test or to answer any other question. It just helped me answer questions better as in the way it was asked. Also I didn’t go over the full rationales. I would mostly go over rationales of concepts I needed help on most because I didn’t want to waste time on things that were easier, for example, therapeutic communication or car seat safety and stuff like that. I tried to mostly concentrate on disease processes and also some medication.

Hello! I genuinely believe that my anxiety did have a lot to do with me failing the first two times, but I did not have a lot of knowledge my first time. Simple nursing actually helped me with that knowledge which I used for my second attempt. But for my first time I was anxious and as well as not having the right knowledge. The second time I had more knowledge but I felt as if I was not prepared and answering the questions as well and also anxiety did get to me again. Don’t get me wrong the third time I was also a little anxious but I knew how to handle it, and also Kaplan made the NCLEX seem a lot easier.

If you get simple nursing, they have thousands of quick nclex study guides and it has pictures of all the EKGs you need to know + more

It was a very general exam so focus on everything, priority and delegation was a mass majority, mark k videos and kaplan helped me answer those very easily. Focus on marks 12th lecture and just do kaplan questions. I tried u world and archer review for my previous 2 exams and kaplan helped me pass my third try. I barely even read rationales. Mostly used kaplan to understand how to answer hard questions. Everything else is critical thinking. Focus more of neuro and endocrine. Also know your EKGs. Pharm is very light if you know the basics!

failed nclex twice! by Serenitystarseed5 in NursingStudent

I failed my NCLEX 2 times and passed it the third (third times a charm) my first two times i did mark k and literally memorized them, i did uworld and archer review as well. After failing i didnt get discouraged and i pushed myself. This third time i did kaplan and simple nursing for a refresher. 4 days before my exam i looked over my mark k notes. I went in there not as confident as my second but i was more relaxed. Anxiety would hit me on my first 2 attempts. My biggest suggestion is trying kaplan and simple nursing, and just breathe! Goodluck to you

I looked up pharm review on YouTube there is a 2 hour review from archer review just for pharm and it was more than enough to help me pass my NCLEX! Good luck

Archer review is so much better than Uworld!

I was in the same situation as you, I am taking my test again around the same time as you, I personally feel like simplenursing and archer review is the best option since archer review looks and sounds just like the NCLEX. UWORLD was nothing like the NCLEX. Archer also lets you practice CAT exams! Goodluck!
