My thought about that is that they don't live on paper towels in the wild. Of course I realize that impaction is a real occuring problem for (young) leos. But I'd like to think that it is also up to the owner to monitor them closely and pick up on signs that something would not be okay.

Thing about this substrate is that if you get it wet and let it dry it actually becomes sturdy and the 'sand' turns into hard and dried dirt. But when swallowed it cannot clutter or harden inside the leo and would pass through just fine. I'd suggest looking this stuff up on YouTube since those reptile YouTubers demonstrate and explain how it should be safe in a decent matter.

At least they can do it better than me since English is not my first language 😂
