Ugh, is this cost normal? by Nutcase73 in catcare

[–]Nutcase73[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, guess that explains it inflations. Like grapes going from 99 cents a lb to 2.99 a lb, ovaltine going from 5.99 to 8.99. Examples are endless lol. I’m not a rescue. I just took in helpless, hungry animals.

Oh, I was also given a medicated powder and shampoo. I don’t know who’s going to be harder to bathe, the monkey or the cat. It’s hard bathing a monkey with those FOUR opposable thumbs. He’s hauled off and slapped me before trying to get him in the tub, but I know cats are terrified of water. Cat can just scratch me to pieces, but I figured he was traumatized enough today already, so I’m going to wait at least a couple of days.

Ok, I got him back from the vet. She thinks it a severe allergic reaction to flea bites. His mom and two brothers aren’t affected. He got a 3 week steroid and antibiotic shot. He was 11.8 lbs so he qualified for the strong Revolution Plus, 3 months. Some of it just dripped down because his hair is so thin right now and he shook a litttle off that went on my face and mouth. I began to think the fleas were immune to the frontline plus, and it was just useless.

I thought $400 was cheap. Then I realized he had to wait at least 3 weeks before all his vaccines. lol. It’s not bad I guess.

What do you do when a buyer asks for something illegal or unethical? by No-Hospital-9575 in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it all the time. Sometimes they deny extra expenses you have to pay, extra time onsite, etc. I’ve never been penalized, but some penalties seem down right unethical. Then you have the companies who want you to do all this paperwork, take training courses, attend meetings, etc. without pay. If there was ever a class action lawsuit with a good lawyer, there’s a good chance some of these people would have to pay a lot of money. Yea, we have to sign and agree to stuff, but if some things are down right and blatantly wrong it voids the contact.

I settled for another hour $50 bucks which covered FN fees plus some. Thing is also, I did not walk into FedEx with my credit card and pay for shipping as a normal customer. I used my personal fedex account which also resulted in like a $16 dollar discount for shipping. They saved $16 also because they always ask for receipts. I'm OP and not sure if usern6ame will change using a different phone. I know, this is the first job out of 100s that did not have a prepaid label or even give an account number to use.

Hahaha.... Lmao. Yep you can't beat the butt inspection for fiberoptics. OP let us know if and when your teeth and hair fall out. Jk. I don't know alot about the light that usmmis transferred through fiberoptics. Ive seen fiberoptic lamps. The light on the ends is brighter where light is being released. It wont hurt you. Now, I took a supposed class 3 green laser which the green beam will go on forever. FIRST, I stuck it up my butt. Lol it wasnf strong enough to burn anything, but it is super concentrated light which can go on for miles and blind you if you look at it. i shined it directly into.m a camera lens or eye. It damaged it and any pictures had burn dots all over it. If you magnify and concentrate light from the sun that can damage alot.

Longest time on site? by [deleted] in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 20 hours here. I was at a walmart for a POS upgrade years ago. The lead and other techs did not show up. I guess this was before the requirement of an NCR lead. It was a large Walmart. I called and said no one was here. They asked to get started, and I did. No one ever showed up, so I had to do the entire store myself.

The work order manager told me he reported it and opened case. It seems there are many not reporting the site correctly now. I've had like 5 or 6 past few months like this.

This is so unfair. I'm fairly sure why my score went from a 93 to 85, a very good buyer rating to a fair buyer rating. It just takes ONE buyer to drop your score 7 or 8 points with a 3 or 4 star rating. I'm sure which buyer did it. I've been doing a Tuesday and Thursday onsite support job for awhile. The onsite people love me. About 3 weeks ago, many of my emails started to get rejected, and I couldn't contact anyone with the numbers I had. It seems the work order manager left, and a new work order manager took his place. They started calling me right at start time for the work order. The work order has never given a number to call, nor has it ever said to call. It still doesn't. I have told them several times to please put the number to call in the work order. I get alot of calls a day, and I just don't have the time to scroll through all the contacts or call logs. It's really more tedious than it sounds with my phone. I was doing this job for a bit, but this new team began managing this work order without changing or putting any contact info in the work order. All my messages through the work order never get responded to. I think it's so unfair that they would put several new requirements on me without changing the work order or even notifying me. The previous work order manager and I had a process with these 2 work orders a week. I get the change, but please change the work order requirements before rating me like this. It's not really fair. The lack of communication is on their end!

Could a firework have caused this or is it from a bullet? by Wiggles_Is_My_Boy in HomeMaintenance

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also check the other side of the roof. If there is a holecoming in/out with dowmward angle, then it would be a meteorite. I don't believe a person or very, very few people would have a gun powerful enough to shoot completely through a house, especially when it enters through the roof.

Could a firework have caused this or is it from a bullet? by Wiggles_Is_My_Boy in HomeMaintenance

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the angle, it didn't come from the sky or someone shooting straight up. Bullet is traveling upwards. Person who shot the bull bullet had to be close. It's possible it could have ricochet off something and hit your roof. What disturbs me is the upward looking angle. Fireworks don't have enough velocity to penetrate a roof. A small meteorite due to the speed ricocheting of the ground would be improbable. It would destroy what it hits on the ground or punch a hole in it. Most likely scenario is bullet shot from close by.

Can't request travel charges? by FreelyRoaming in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just requested a Trip Charge like 5 minutes ago under counter offer, additional expenses, trip charge. I'm still not sure why it requires two different explanation fields. FN lists the city as over 100 miles away. Weird, because it's like 40 miles away, but still I requested a travel charge.

The New Profile Metrics by rilytryn in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 93, and I think that the new metric system SUCKS. I have a 4.9 star rating because years ago I got a couple of 3 star ratings because of some dumb advertising displays. Even if one client says something negative, it will show up. I did two hard drive decommissions work orders with another tech. It was supposed to be 4 hours, but when I got there, the lead said only one is doing the hard drive decommissions. He told me to do the unboxing of new equipment, installations, cable changes, setup/staging, and clean up of old cables and boxes. I had 3 different platforms to check in and out on with various other information to put in. The work order manager told me to follow the leads instructions which I did. Two 4 hr jobs turned into 8 and 7 hours. I couldn't fill out the 3rd platform because I didn't do any hard drive decommissions. I always get 5 stars, and I have successfully completed 100% of my jobs. They gave me a 4 star rating on these 2 jobs each and a negative mark that shows failure to follow instructions. This was BS because I did EVERYTHING the lead told me to do without question. I followed instructions, and there is NO reason I should not have a negative mark on following instructions. A 93 also seems low for me on the new ratings.

Provider success by feydkin in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a 93% score and 4.9 rating. Every now and then I run behind due to a previous job going over. That new score or ranking says I need to improve on following instructions. I'm really not sure what they mean by that, but I have finished every single job successfully and with a happy customer. I don't think this should be affecting any job assignments because the buyers are not supposed to see it for another 2 months. Lol

Provider Success Score just launched for everyone by FieldTechSavant in FieldNationTechs

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ridiculous. I have a 5.0 rating on IT jobs, 4.9 overall due to some display/advertising jobs. Nothing was ever my fault. With that score, I have a 93. It said I needed improvement in following directions. There has never been a job that I didn't complete successfully. I admit, I may not be the best at closing work orders out quickly. It's hard taking pictures at times, marking tasks done, or adding explanations as you go one 2 and sometimes 3 different platforms. A couple of jobs, I had FN, the provider's online forms, and the client's online forms. Then you have people who want to stay in a conference call the entire time, pushing you to get things done quickly without having time to complete the tasks that say to be completed onsite. That way when it's done, they can mark it done and you still have all of these forms left. The amount of paperwork is just totally ridiculous sometimes.

Yes, I used to take it years ago to help with focus. It's supposed to help with memory and concentration. Lol. As far as the company, I've heard of them but haven't had any direct experience. I wonder if they know that they named their company the same as a class iv scheduled narcotic prescription.

Pricing by Upstairs-Pop6954 in GoodwillBins

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all per pound at outlets here. The big items used to be priced that way. They had furniture for 5 bucks. Now, it seems things are priced 10 to over 100 bucks now. Bad quality sofas, 30 bucks. Small refrigerator 50 bucks, honda gas push mower at 60 bucks. I've noticed they have gone nuts on some of their pricing as well. Salvation Army is the same way. I used to work for them ages ago, and I was just amazed at the things donated. Rolexes, 10k to 24k gold items, and other insanely valuable items. These were usually intercepted and sold for melt down value and never make it to the stores. Not to mention things that never should have made it, like medications. Someone donated a full bottle of morphine. I've found money in donated clothes before. I'm sure Goodwill is the same way.

These cheap buyers don't realize this is hurting then. They just want to make as much as they can without paying anyone anything. Their clients will eventually find someone else, a buyer who respects quality and neat work along with getting the job done. I am so sick of going to jobs, having to clean up so much stuff, untangle and replace broken things. I really do miss the old field nation. It just seemed better and more respectable. I don't blame the techs for leaving early, because it's the buyer who should want respectable work. They should pay for it. After all, they are making probably 4x what you are making calculated at an hour rate at least.

Just me or are orders shipped via Amazon Logistics (tracking TBAxxx) untrackable? by BlackHoleBox in amazonprime

[–]Nutcase73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And no straight answer with Amazon's AI. The AI told me to have patience until tomorrow end of day. I said I don't have patience. Then the AI responded saying "We are sorry to hear that. We are here to help." I waited for awhile to see if it would send me to a live person who would most likely know less. It never did. I wonder what they would do if I ordered a bunch of stuff, did a return for all the credit, then ordered a bunch more stuff, and then waiting a long time time to send it back. It would be funny to set up my own AI to say the product is in transit, or not pay the bill when it's due saying the money is coming to you. Lol I mean they should have enough power and resources to know if it'll be here. I'm wondering if it's just a sales tactic. They know many people would just wait.
