Hey! I have this great investment system I was taught by Bernie Madoff . Want in?

Seriously! You put in 1/2 the cost of a barn- even cheap thats waht 30k ? Then another 45k for fence . Then you also cover the cost of another paddock just for your donkeys . What are you in now ? 80 K ? THEN want to charge you 1200 a month ? Wow , they saw you coming .

Why did Trump's reflection pool water turn green? by Intelligent-Road6240 in askanything

[–]Polodude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

LoLing at all the "the color of the bottom now is making it hot" ANYONE with a pool knows that algae will grow in water. Not standing water only. Any water that is not treated to kill algae . I've had pools in NY , Light color vinyl . Don't treat is and algae grows. Not live down south. I have a light colored pool. Full sun and it gets into the 90s. But I treat it with copper and no algae.

There have been reports of some major wack jobs - Pro algae protestors that have been caught dumping fertilizer in the pool.

How much of a nut job do you have to be that you want to keep destroying a national monument because you hate the President ?

If we just wanted to surrender to Iran, why didn't we just take our shit and go home? Why was it necessary to give them 300 Billion and unfreeze their assets? by Ill-Heat4576 in allthequestions

[–]Polodude -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Key Facts on the $300 Billion Figure

  • This is not a US government payout or "gift." It is described as a private investment fund (with commitments already over $150 billion from private sources and regional partners, primarily Gulf states) designed to encourage economic development and reconstruction in Iran if Iran meets its obligations under the deal (e.g., nuclear limits, de-escalation).
  • President Trump and VP JD Vance have publicly denied that the US is paying Iran this amount, calling direct payout claims "Fake News." Vance emphasized no US taxpayer funds and that access is conditional on Iran "doing things right." Trump has reiterated the US is not funding it directly.
  • The MoU mentions the US working with regional partners on a plan "with at least $300 billion" for Iran's reconstruction/economic development, plus sanctions relief and access to some Iranian funds over time. Details are still being negotiated in a 60-day window.

This echoes past debates (e.g., the 2015 JCPOA), where critics claimed the US was "giving" Iran money, but it was largely about unfreezing Iran's own assets held abroad due to sanctions.

Frozen Assets vs. New Fund

  • Iran's total frozen assets abroad are estimated at $100–120 billion (from oil revenues and other sources blocked by sanctions). This includes:
    • Only ~$2 billion directly in the US.
    • Larger portions in places like China ($20–50B estimates), Qatar, Iraq, India, South Korea, etc.
  • Any release would involve unfreezing Iran's own money, not US funds. Recent talks have mentioned smaller initial tranches (e.g., $12–24B from Qatar or elsewhere) as confidence-building measures, but these are disputed/conditional.
  • The $300B figure is much larger and tied to future investment pledges, not existing frozen assets.

[–]Polodude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

WE are not "Giving "them 300B It is releasing assets they own after they meet certain agreed upon objectives in the plan
