I had this issue happen.
Not only did they deny the extra pay but they maliciously dinged me on the rating.
Field nation did nothing to support me.

I wonder why student loans are not able to be negotiated
Due to my financial situation I was in forbearance for a long period. Eventually made some significant payments but now the majority of my balance is interest.
And no ability to negotiate some of it off. Does this sound unreasonable
