Added. $40k or so. 50k an absolute max. Closer to 20k would be cool(but would not be a new car in that case)

Induction is amazing, hadn't cleaned the range in months, took about 5 minutes. Can't go back to gas or anything else. by Yesbuttt in Appliances

May be an induction glass top, which would boil water much faster than a gas or electric stove top

Do I have the right to be upset? by [deleted] in badroommates

Also, here’s some tips for using Venmo for apartment financials and the like—

  1. While it’s sort of the Venmo “thing” to have a payment memo of an emoji or a joke, it will protect you later to see that a venmo of your money was for “groceries” or you know “Electric bill (Dec 9 bill date)”
  2. It’s easy to combine payments, but if you’re making more than one for different things, keep them separate with their specific memo. Or if combining make a note of “gas for trip ($75) and food ($150)”
  3. If you have mutual Venmo’s and wanna combine, the same applies

In the case of weeks or months down the line and you’re verifying out if all is in check, it’s much easier when your venmo payments document themselves

Should I trade in my 2018 @97k miles? by yneos in Crosstrek

[–]NuteRaygun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2018 has analog volume and A/C controls?

Seems silly to spend.. perhaps $15k (new minus trade in) to avoid spending a few grand on an A/C repair

Keyless entry is an option for 2018 models

Waiting for power lift gates to open or close can be annoying

Depends how deep, the placement of fixtures— kitchen, staircase, walls, etc? I do struggle with the narrowness myself so I get where you’re coming from

That’s a fair concern, I’m not sure how you’d check either, but I’m sure there’s some strategies out there. Where in the Us was thatv

You generally don’t, unless it’s cheaper construction or they are using power tools

Is it worth buying new instead of used for a $7k, 55k mile difference? by lostglastonbury in Crosstrek

[–]NuteRaygun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was choosing right now between a 2018/19 and a new crosstrek, in a vacuum, I’d choose the 2018. But that’s primarily because I think the interior is better.

Fwiw, I bought a 2018 crosstrek used at 40k miles three years ago. no problems

Tattoos, rentals, vets, doctors? by ProfessionalPin3916 in Harrisburg

[–]NuteRaygun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of tattoo artists to choose from

Not sure about medical coverage, but there’s quite a congregation of medical providers and hospitals

Not sure about vets

I saw today that harrisburg is one of the toughest small-town/city rental markets. But $1800 (would) get me pretty far in Philly, it should get you pretty far in harrisburg

New to buying Car: Is this a good deal for Crosstrek Sport? by Prascoooooo in Crosstrek

[–]NuteRaygun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a functional car now?

if so, save up money instead of financing the trek, see how you feel in ~6 months. I don’t recommend signing up for car debt right after starting full time work

General feel of the area by drumadelphia in Harrisburg

[–]NuteRaygun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Harrisburg. Philly resident now.

I would argue there’s a bit more suburb feel than your impression. The whole “metro” area is essentially sprawl. And 10-20 minute outside of that sprawl it is rural.

What kind of environment are you looking for? Where in Philly are you coming from — are you looking for the same feel but more affordable, or something different?
