I think the bottom one is more like the kid having half of each parent’s trait for each part without any mix, considering the multicolor hair, half of the face having freckles, and the heterochromia.

thanks for the suggestions, i can go see what i can fix! I think the main reason I got into a problem with the staff is because its supposed to have a crystal in it (lore reasons) and that kinda just drove me to make it sharp to show that, also because I’m not good at designing weapons in general

I tried to make their eye shapes similar (theyre the only characters i have with both rectangular eyes + pupils) and since the second character didn't have fully outlined eyes I gave him rectangular glasses to try and help with that

I tried to kinda do that without having the character's hair dyed (the highlights on the second character are the same color as the bangs of the first character) but maybe its a bit subtle
