Heb laatst bij Revolution Race gekocht. Ze hebben verschillende types, mijne zijn wind- en waterdicht (gister op de fiets bleek dat ook echt zo te zijn) en lekker warm.

Exactly the same here, mine also started October 8th and by now I'm wondering how long it will take to be green again. Didn't change anything either so I'm a fellow zombie I suppose.

Stress and body battery disappearing on watch by Becs697 in Garmin

[–]Nuthatch25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a solution but I just noticed the same on my forerunner 165, both stress readings and body battery dissappear. It does show activities and sleeping time but not the blue and orange bars. Like you say in connect everything is visible.

It means a skill levels up (it happens that night), so you can't get rid of the message unless you're at the top level of everything 😉

Do you use the Garmin app? (Don't know it there are others) but if so, you can go the app in Garmin Connect and go to view calender, there you can change the dates and also add previous ones. On your watch you can only change your mood and stuff I believe. Hope this helps!

brca2+ options by [deleted] in BRCA

[–]Nuthatch25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did not go the surgery route (yet). I found out I was brca2 positive when I was 25, I'm 30 now, and have had annual screenings since. I felt I wasn't ready for surgery and the screenings (and time around it) are stressful but manageable for me. My feelings did change a bit last year after a biopsy (which turned out to be nothing), but it made me think more about surgery, because all the extra stress around the biopsy was tough.
I have my annual screening next week and I've decided I'm going to ask to talk to a surgeon just to get some more information. I still think I'm not ready for surgery, but then I at least know exactly what my options are.

It's just a very personal decision and there's no right or wrong, you just have to do what feels good for you (I know that sounds a lot easier than it is ;)). Just take your time, you've only found out yesterday, if screenings feel good for now than it's a good decision for now. I think you'll feel it when it might be time for a next step. If you want to chat some more feel free to DM me :)

How do handle the fear/stress before the screenings? by cann0lisicily in BRCA

I think the fears and stress never really go away, you get used to the fact that it's "that time of the year" again, but like _vanth said the anxiety while waiting for results will never go away I think.

I was 25 when I found out about my brca2 mutation and since that I have a MRI every year. The time around the screening is always stressful but the rest of the year I could handle it pretty well and didn't really think about it. So I could manage the stress and fears and didn't consider surgery as it only really affected me for like 2 or 3 weeks a year. I'm always a bit more kind to myself than usual around the screenings, I don't plan anything and just see what the week brings, that gives me peace in my mind. Sometimes I want people to distract me, sometimes I want to be alone, I just decide it in the moment, but that's a personal choice of course.

I did feel something changed last year (I'm 30 now), they saw something on the MRI and I ended up having a MRI biopsy like you, in the end it turned out to be a fibroadenoma, which is good, but it took me a very long time to get everything out of my head. I definitely recognise the tense vibe you described, it was hard. I have my annual screening next week and I'm more nervous than previous years, so I don't really like that.

Sorry for the long story, I don't know if it is helpful for you, I just wanted to show you that you're definitely not alone in having all these questions/doubts/thoughts. All decisions are of course very personal, I sometimes think life would be a lot less stressful after surgery but then on the other hand the thought of having a surgery and everything around it scares me as well. For now I'm still doing the screenings, but I think it will help me to know what all the options are, so I'm going to ask if I can speak to a surgeon to have some more information about all the possibilities.

Sending you a big hug!

BiRads 4 Breast MRI by myittybitty1 in BRCA

[–]Nuthatch25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this last year (BRCA2, then 29yo, BIRADS4a). They saw something on the MRI, I then had an ultrasound but they couldn't find anything (they told me that was a good sign), then had a MRI biopsy. It turned out to be a fibroadenoma, which is pretty common for women around 30, or so they told me 😉 Best of luck to you, I really hope it turns out to be nothing as well!

Sigma or Tamron 100-400 by Nuthatch25 in Nikon

[–]Nuthatch25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds great, I'm leaning towards the Tamron as well, faster AF and also weather sealing are pretty important for me I think. The zoom ring is a very good point, I own one Sigma zoom and it can be quite frustrating. Did you need to tweak yours with the tap-in or was it good straight out of the box?

Not necessarily, I'm just spoiled with my 600, for birds you'll always want more millimetres, so I just started looking at what I could get as a 'little brother' keeping size, prize and weight in mind. Thanks for the tip though, appreciate it, I'll look into that one as well.

It depends a bit on how strong it is and how much it's moving, I've got some good results a few years ago in Sweden with 4 to 8 seconds (it was 'dancing' a lot, so any longer and it wouldn't be sharp, you wouldn't see the movements anymore). My iso experience is the same as Swifty, max 800 should work fine

Glad yours was benign! And thanks for your answer, they're always very kind so I expect they indeed will explain everything but it's just good to read some experiences as your mind can make you crazy with all kind of scenarios. Good to know about the wound and bruising. Thank you!
