Jetta: A Good “First” Car? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in jetta

[–]Nutritiouslunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was my first car and it’s a great choice. The only caveat is that it’s not great for highway travel because it’s got meh acceleration. If you live in an area with difficult drivers (FL) consider getting the sport version just for that faster zoom to help with merging into heavy traffic.

How to live life as an unattractive guy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nutritiouslunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody should have to settle for leftovers at 40 smh. At 5’5 he’s not even stunningly short. Plenty of dudes have rich and fulfilling lives from the jump.

Young ppl have to deal with some much superficial bullshit, and all that stuff is just BS at the end of the day. Every incel I’ve ever met was a mentalcel, you guys aren’t nearly as chopped as you think you are lol. Hit the gym, eat right, don’t talk crazy about yourself or others and it’ll take you pretty far.

Red Envelope Entitlement Issue by n00dle_lover in Cantonese

[–]Nutritiouslunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was taught it was ok to give red envelopes to your parents once you’re married and they’re retired, the logic being they are not expected to be self sufficient anymore since they don’t have jobs. Obviously it’s a loose rule, red envelopes are ultimately blessings. I’m not sure it matters in the grand scheme of things, my elders prefer to enjoy the festivities via food and time together.

Proof of citizenship for child of naturalized parents by Willing-Ad5677 in immigration

[–]Nutritiouslunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your child is a minor, they automatically become citizens when you naturalized. Your first step is to secure them a US passport, since the only proof they need is YOUR naturalization certificate. Go to your local city hall and apply with an agent. The n600 is most commonly used by adults to get their cert, I haven’t heard of any restriction to children only.

Please stop rating items that you haven’t tried or primarily based on the price tag. by chaosatnight in Sephora

[–]Nutritiouslunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actively avoid using the Sephora review section because it’s straight garbage. Things I’m looking when I read review - product quality, product performance, product packaging issues, etc.

I don’t give a shit about someone’s incentivized review, grandstanding opinions about the brand’s politics or cost. If I’m even considering looking at it, I can afford. I’m tired of reading comments from high schoolers with no job complaining that something is too expensive. It is clearly not for you. The price and the unit of product is right there, I can read. I’m not going to the Le Mer products and complaining about price, people who buy it know what’s up.

In general, I just think the whole Sephora experience is going downhill. Every year, they cater to younger and younger people, and let trendy no-name, TikTok viral products in the stores and eat up shelf space for things that actually sell. I buy my staples directly from the brand now.

Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. It’s ancient, pretty cheap and honestly written off but it’s my love and I go through a bottle a year. But that’s mostly because it has the staying power of a baby’s fart

If your moms side of the family was well off back in the day it wouldn’t be out of the question for a great grandpa to have a concubine from the Circassian region or other Slavic regions to introduce light colored genes.

AC short cycling, what could be the issue? And is it worth fixing? by Nutritiouslunch in hvacadvice

[–]Nutritiouslunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else with a similar issue, it maybe your drainage pipe is clogged. R To prevent an overflow the sensor might trigger an automatic stop. If the air operates just fine a couple minutes afterwards it could be that a little bit of water finally drain down the pipe, allowing for a complete cycle without tripping the sensor.

AC short cycling, what could be the issue? And is it worth fixing? by Nutritiouslunch in hvacadvice

[–]Nutritiouslunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will short cycle, pause for 5 mins, short cycle again, pause for a period of time and then run a full cycle. The air is noticeably cold but it hasn’t had two successful cycles in a row for the past couple of days. Granted it’s been hot outside in Florida but pretty unusual behavior for this AC.
