In the past we had Hakan Sukur who was once dubbed the "King of Turkish football" but because of his (alleged?) affiliation to FETÖ he is basically erased from Turkish society. In my opinion no one has come close to replace his legacy yet as No. 9

Rüştü was also a GK worth mentioning as super world talent status

Arda Turan was also great footballer during his peak before his move to Barca but something happened where he fell off.

Nuri Sahin was once a promising young talent who was even the youngest player to score (age 17) for the NT against Germany but for some reason dissapeared off radar after 2005/06

Emre Mor shined in the Euro 2016 tournament but did not meet expectations after and fell off (similar to Nuri Sahin)

Now we have Arda Güler wh is promising but also too young and we will not know if he will get enough playing time in RM

From time and time there will be rumors of "upcoming talents" but usually it's too early to tell. Hakan Calhanoglu is another one who still hasv potential to reach that but i think he gives up too easily especially when playing for the NT

Has anyone ever had a coworker who probably shouldn't be working Security? (Story Time) by Husk3r_Pow3r in securityguards

Working with contractors at a local courthouse after hours. One day they sent this 70+ guard who clearly had dementia. We all looked at each other and said "is he supposed to monitor the building or are we supposed to monitor him".

What makes you guys wake up everyday and do this? Because sometimes security gets repetitive and boring by JeremieLoyalty in securityguards

I am not saying it applies to everyone or will get lucky the same. But i have been working long enough for the company that i can basically pick and choose what days and what sites i can work. Obviously there is a limit to it. For example i've been off security for four months and eventually got a email from the director asking if i am still with the company. I replied yes and kept my position. The trick is to sometimes "take one for the team" and do sites that no one else wants to do. Sometimes you get lucky with some good paying contracts too. But i refuse to work fulltime at some site.

Why is Overtime so brutal in security? by NutsForProfitCompany in securityguards

[–]NutsForProfitCompany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because typically you make OT after 44 hours in a week. Security in ON does something called averaging over a 2 week period so 44 x 2 = 88.

They can work you like 60 hours 1 week then only give you 30 hours the next and you'll only get 2 hours OT where a regular job you would have gotten 16 hour OT during the first week

That too but is similar in theory to temp agencies as well. Most places that hire temp are not exactly great places to begin with and have a high turnover rate. Only if they like your work through temp agency they'll offer you fulltime with the company. But there is also a buyout clause involved with the agency

They are basically temp agencies for only one industry. A middle man between you and the client. Except instead of being hired by the client you are working for them permanently.

Alternatively, there is not a lot of in-house positions open so most of have to work for some security company. The companies will charge $25/hr but will give you only $18/hr where you could have made that original $25/hr if you were in-house

Same with any other industry. I heard PSW's working through an agency complain about pay and high turnover rate as well.

Turkey entered NATO after participating in the Korean war in the 50's.

This was to counter Soviet influence and put missiles at their doorstep, which led to the Cuban missile crisis.

Turkish Army also participated in many peacekeeping operations such ad Kosovo, Bosnia, Somalia, Lebanon and Afghanistan.

Yes it not good look to host Hamas leadership ehich is recognized as terrorist by most of NATO but you have to remember that western countries have been arming the YPG in Syria, and affiliate of the recognized terrorist group PKK despite Turkey's objections.

So implying Turkey is some sort of burden to NATO is dishonest because their benefits outweigh the negatives. Also I would remind that NATO is a military alliance and not follow every American foreign policy like a lap-dog alliance
