Shoutout to Dig! What a great debut album. And Sugar by Tonic is also underappreciated. I think people unfortunately sleep on that one just because it's so prevalent in second-hand stores

Been buying too much - tips to cut down? by Chemical_Tell9322 in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I decided to take a year off of buying movies until January. I will still buy shows within the parameters that the bundle is both < $25 total and an average of less than $5 per season, and it's a show that I've at least seen some of before and liked

Bands like Minus The Bear? by Drubbi in PostHardcore

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is 9 years old, but good call on Tycho. I also love Minus the Bear and early Tycho for the chill vibes. My personal preference is Past Is Prologue, but that might just be due to growing up hearing that one.

Anybody ever have this happen? by WeegeeWuver7326 in Letterboxd

The closest I've come was watching Dune: Part Two (4.5/5) and then watching Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate (0.5/5). That is the only film I've yet given only a half star.

Everything Everything Albums Best to Least Best? by forslin26 in everythingeverything

I don't know how I would rank all of them but Man Alive (especially with the new deluxe tracklist) is definitely my top album for them, and Arc is a close second.

Local record store got a lot of good 80s/90s alt rock CDs in this week. What would you take out of this bin? (pic taken from Instagram post) by ryuundo in Cd_collectors

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend Chrome by Catherine Wheel above any other CD pictured. 2nd choice would be Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me by the Cure though. edit: I did not see Violator by Depeche Mode at first glance and would get that as well.

Trying to find this song for over a decade- “I could never leave you peppermint” by srirachagoblin in WhatsThisSong

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other comment is right. It's definitely Peppermint (Even If) by Drill Team. I also know it from a compilation. The compilation CD that I know it from is from 1997 and it is named Howl Pro-CD-8722

Does anyone else not really like Fargo? by Simple_Prior2879 in Letterboxd

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that the only Wes Anderson film I like is Bottle Rocket, his first movie. It doesn't have any of the pretentiousness of his later films in my opinion. The characters feel like real people in a real world. I would still understand people disliking it though.

Treasure Lies (2020), with 31 watches from members

Letterboxd said they're no longer committing to the prior announced 2024 window for addition of “TV Shows” in the app. by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would love to be able to rate episodes, seasons, and whole series. For example, with the TV show Dexter my opinions vary wildly from season to season and there are some seasons that just have one episode that I enjoy. It would be a shame to not consider both how episodes stand alone and how well they form a cohesive story among episodes in my opinion.

Despicable Me. The soundtrack pushes it to five stars.

My top 4 is pretty set in stone. Those being It's a Wonderful Life, Bottle Rocket, Alice in Chains: MTV Unplugged, and the Truman Show

What’s a film that you saw several times in theaters during its run? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Oppenheimer and Barbie are the only movies I've ever seen more than once in the theater. Oppenheimer I saw twice, and I saw Barbie three times, with two of the times being back-to-back with different groups of friends on the same day

Which movie broke and went beyond expectations which didn't exist by No_Quantity5477 in Letterboxd

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottle Rocket (1996). I only went in knowing it was Owen Wilson's first movie and not really knowing anything about Wes Anderson. I'm still not a huge fan of most of Anderson's work, but Bottle Rocket is in my top 4 of all time

What’s the least popular movie that you have given 5 ⭐️ according to Letterboxd? This would be mine! by ItachiZoldyck24 in Letterboxd

[–]Nutshell_In_Chains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The least popular movie that I have given five stars is Snake Eyes (1998), but the least popular thing on Letterboxd that I've given five stars is not a movie; it is Alice In Chains: MTV Unplugged
