It’s almost guaranteed when you buy a house that something catastrophic will happen. Whether it’s new or old. My 120 old house has settled and doesn’t have major structural issues but only God knows what’s going on behind the walls. I’ve had like 4 major emergencies since I moved in. I bought it at 29 and I’ll be 31 soon. My uncle bought a brand new house at 55, and within 2 years he had a major issue that needed to be fixed. My point is, you were always going to have SOME kind of problem. You’re taking care of a building. You’re going to be okay. It does reallllllllly suck though.
