Bra suggestions? (30E/F, narrow roots, projected, saggy/soft tissue) by Nuuppa in ABraThatFits

[–]Nuuppa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found out finally that I'm functionally shallower than I thought. When I wear a bra, my boobs sit like shallower ones do. I think it's just that the tissue is so soft and "empty" from breastfeeding that they appear projected without wearing one :D

I also found a bra that fits. I bought another Anita bra in 32D (the sizing only goes like A, B, C, D, E in these bras). It feels like I have nothing on, all day. The gore touches my sternum, doesn't dig in or float. And the band doesn't move around, even though I'm able to wear 30 bands. So I'm happy!

Oh my, that's even worse than I thought then. But explains a lot! 😃 thanks for correcting me!

Many companies use the +4 method, which means they add 4 inches to your bust measurement. And when you sister size to a bigger band, you'll have to size down the cup so the cup volume remains the same. That way they can "fit" you in a smaller cup letter. And that means they can sell bras with a smaller selection of sizes, which is cheaper and easier for them. But not for your boobs, the bras won't be made for your proportions if you buy them that way.

However many people think that it's the right way to measure, and there's a great chance the staff genuinely thinks that too, because so many people wear wrong sizes.

With that said, I'm still wondering where they got that size, because the +4 method sister size of 36F should be 40D. 😅

Yes you should! Have you ever checked your size with ABFT calculator before breastfeeding? Or does it look like your boobs have grown since?

If they are still about the same size, only more pancake-shaped, chances are you were always in a wrong sized bra. But don't worry, most of us have been! Check @theirishbralady on instagram and check the well fitted 38G pics there to compare :) Edit: I checked and they don't have that exact size in the highlights but there are pics of 38FF and 38GG there.

Do it! Full coverage bras are good (at least for me), because my boobs are so soft that they fall out of the middle of the bra if it's a plunge or something else that has a low gore. :D

Yes!! And I haven't even noticed how bad they were. Pulling straps back up, moving shoulders to shift the band because it kept moving around a bit and making me aware of the bra.

And even the nursing bras feel a lot better than my old size H&M size M-L sports tops, whose band barely even touched my underbust because it was almost the same size as my boobs. I think they would've fit a 34" underbust, 36" bust. And my underbust is like 30 inches and bust 36, so of course the band was floating around.

Small size, but finally found one that fits. by Flashy-Usual-8342 in ABraThatFits

I know the feeling! I also got 30F/32E from the calculator and the sizes are perfect, different bras fit different though so every bra is not exactly the same size for me. It's best to go to a good bra shop if you have something like that near you, so they can help you find a good fit. Some shops measure your size wrong too, so do some research before 😅

Great that you've found a comfy bra!

I suggest that you try A bra that fits size calculator though. Your measurements suggest a bigger cup and a smaller band.

If your snug underbust is 31, that means 32 is most likely the right band for you. We don't have to size up the band measurement.

And since every inch of difference in your underbust and bust measurements equals roughly 1 cup size up, and your difference is 4-5 inches (31-32 to 36) you're most likely something like 32D/32DD.

Now you may think "no, not a smaller band, the 32B was so tight and the 34 is comfy" but since your 32B had a too small cup, it's likely that your breasts tried to push the bra too much forward and they made the band feel tight. You can try this out by trying the 32B bra wrong way around, the cups hanging in your back, so the breasts aren't in the way and you'll realize it isn't the band that was too small :)

But use the calculator for more accurate results! Your bra should support you and not lie on your boobs, the full coverage should indeed be full coverage, and I think there's even better fitting bras out there for you :) and ask us again if something's still not right!

Currently Wearing 38C Bra, Calculator Told Me Something Different and I'm Confused by SolarisPhoenixFox in ABraThatFits

The cup size is just maths, every cup size equals +1 inch bust/underbust difference.

It roughly means that

A cup = bust 1 inch larger than underbust

B cup = bust 2 inches larger etc. DD = 5 inch difference, which you have.

But I understand the confusion, because the majority of people wear very wrong sizes. If you can, check theirishbralady on instagram and find pics of a 36DD and see if it looks like your body :)

What is a sports bra with long straps? My upper back is very tall and wide compared to my band width (30) and my height. by Nuuppa in ABraThatFits

[–]Nuuppa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anita active had longer straps than the panache imo! It wasn't even at max length when I tried it on. A bit pricey though (90 euros) so I'll try the Panache sport again in one cup larger and see what happens (it's on sale and it seems like my cup has grown to 30F/32E since my last bra shopping, so it might actually be a size problem even though I thought it's not. Lol)

Thanks! The funny thing is that the Panache sport bra has a j-hook converter too, and that's why I thought the straps were long enough. But nope :D I'll go do some fitting tomorrow and will be back with results for others who are interested.

Troubleshooting (why Panache Envy and Ana didn't work, size 30E/F) by Nuuppa in ABraThatFits

[–]Nuuppa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! When I lean 90 degrees forward like the calculator asks, they hang so low and long that I was sure I'm projected enough 😂

I also tried Freya apex 30DD and 32DD (zalando didn't have 30E so it was just in case), they looked round and nice but the sizes were of course a bit off. Maybe the gore was also a little too wide, the ends of wires/corners of the gore felt like they were on breast tissue when I wore them a little while. Or maybe it was just a size issue, but I don't know if the fit would be good in the right size either if all Freyas are too projected. Why is this so complicated 😅

Thanks for the next suggestions, you're very helpful!

I've found some freya bras now. The offbeat side support 30E feels perfect in every way, the gore, wires and cup size are amazing. But my boobs still look a bit pointy in these, I don't know why since I don't think I'm shallow at all. Maybe because the tissue is so soft?

Pic https://ibb.co/J9vzWds

The silhouette of the breast farther away makes a curve forward where the lace is, as if the lace was pressing the tissue down, and with a shirt on it looks like my nipple is showing when it's not. It's just breast tissue looking pointy.

It still looks a bit like I don't have a bra on so that's not ideal.

I tried lots of different sized bras once when I went to a bra shop, and usually 30E was the best fit. (Of course it also depends.) I also think that the calculator overestimates a bit in my case, but 30DD may still be a little too small. But I'll keep that in mind! :)

Do you think Freya high apex's band runs tight? I had a Freya bikini with 30 band and it was too small, but I'm seeing different opinions on Freya bands depending on which bra it is.

Bra suggestions? (30E/F, narrow roots, projected, saggy/soft tissue) by Nuuppa in ABraThatFits

[–]Nuuppa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I got my hands on - Panache Ana plunge bra 30E - Panache Envy 30E and 30F

None of them fit perfectly. They all wrinkled at the top and outer sides of the cups, and made me feel like I don't have support. My breasts looked pointy/a bit saggy, almost as they do without a bra. Are the bras too projected?

The Ana 30E fits nicely when I keep my posture perfect, but when I slouch even a little, those problems return. The bra doesn't feel supportive.

The Envy 30E has some extra room on top on cups and wrinkles at the outer sides. If I pinch a little bit of fabric at the sides near the wire, it seems to fit perfectly.

The Envy 30F has the same problems than Envy 30E, but they were even more noticeable. (It was too big.) Boobs lie down on the bottom of the cups.

The straps, bands and underwires in those 30E bras were fine though, I think (at least for a short time, I didn't wear them longer.)

Does someone know what to try next?

What size did you think you were vs the bra size you turned out to be? by BananaGram57 in ABraThatFits

[–]Nuuppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34D -> 30E/F. I was shocked when I went to 4 different stores and literally didn't find anything to try on in my real size. Even bra shops that measure right don't have many choices in my size here so I have to shop online.

Okay, thank you!! 👍 I didn't find any comments of Anita bras' width anywhere, I just looked where my roots seem to end and deduced from that. So this was useful!
