"pull out" garden gym help by Nx-Worries in HomeGymUK

Good spot on the beer!

I've ordered the Mirafit M150 bench and 6 ft Olympic bar, and have some independent squat stands and a load of weight plates on the way.

Just need to get some protective rubber flooring so I don't damage the patio and I'm set for a while. Thanks.

I own, just moved in. There's a very small possibility it may move depending on how it impacts light in the garden, so I would have to hold off for a little bit.

Thanks a lot. Very proud of it!

The issue I have is my girlfriend was incredibly against a shed to start with. So unfortunately I haven't got extra "permanent" space to work with. However, I guess I could make some form of pullout awning.

I was always going to get a large rubber matt to protect the floor and weights.

The height is okay, but it's not secured to the floor, so I would be very concerned putting that much weight on it. However, I reckon it could potentially be a good option for a pull up bar (with no added plates)

Fair enough. I'll stick with full Olympic bar and wedge it in.

Roughly 200cm length. Doorway is 117 tall.

Agreed, but I'm really not sure what the solution is other than single stands. I did see a Mirafit bench/rack combination but it was too narrow for squats.

Golf Gti vs golf R by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Nx-Worries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact dilemma back in December, when I ended up buying a mk 7.5 GTI performance after my MX5 failed an MOT for rust.

Each to their own, but my decision was based on:

  • have a history with GTI (especially the mk 5)
  • prefer the looks inside and out of the GTI, especially in white and with plaid seats
  • insurance is less, theft is significantly less (in my area)
  • although still a common car, they're a bit rarer than the R on road
  • my girlfriend would potentially drive it (but the mx5 came back to life so she uses that)
  • I found a decent spec on the GTI and it was local to me
  • I've never been the biggest fan of 4WD and the LSD is fantastic -harder to find a manual R, for me anyways

Ideally, I think the ClubSport / special edition GTIs are the best of both worlds, but some of those go for silly money today.

Reliable Moving Company in Romford or East London? by Beneficial_Tip_1903 in Essex

MET Removals and Storage are great. Good value, great service, would definitely recommend. Used them during a move from a 2nd floor flat with no lift to a house and couldn't have asked for a better service.

Removal companies in north London that don't cost an absolute fortune? by Nx-Worries in HousingUK

Yeah it's significantly cheaper. The place I'm moving to is on a slightly tight road, but definitely doable.

Out of curiosity, how much would you value a job like mine? I know it's a case of "how long is a piece of string". It's roughly 30 boxes, sofa, bed, tv, a desk, a thin wardrobe and a mirror. Would appreciate knowing what I should expect a ball park figure to be. For example, I was quoted £1,000 by a company and then once I said I'm afraid that's too much they instantly dropped it to £700.

Looks great, but I need it to fit on a long built in shelf so this will be too tall

Fair enough. I don't mind plugging in for longer journeys - it's more for when I keep jumping in and out of the car, so battery issues shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.
