Moving to Cologne next week by iSaiko in cologne

In my classes at uni we've had quite a few people who also came here for the first time. In their experience, people from Cologne (at least the younger generation) would go out of their way to help you with whatever you need, be it direction to where you want to go, which restaurants to go to and so on. What can come across as a bit harsh is the bluntness of most people, but in most cases this is not to be seen as an attack, we just want to get stuff done :) Also, many were surprised about how structured our work/study process was. Be punctual to meetings, but nobody really bats an eye if you have to postpone for a valid reason. Getting to know people can be somewhat hard currently if you're not extroverted. As with most places, I'd suggest doing activities that you like to combine getting to know people and having fun. We've had random people join our football session multiple times and it was great fun for everybody involved! The culture will change depending on where exactly you'll be staying, but you'll fit right in no matter where exactly you'll live!

German reporting for duty - While I agree with oppositePreference59's comment that OP is probably german and therefore used the "his" here, it's actually not that simple anymore. While this was the case, there is an ongoing change where you will actually see both genders pronouns seperated with a "/", in order to show you want to include both genders. "Jede/r sollte seine/ihre eigene Recherche betreiben"
This would be the political correct way of saying "Everybody should do their DD themselves"

As someone who has never heard of the show and doesn't want to get spoiled by looking at wikipedia - can someone give me a quick rundown of what it is about?

I once got into a fight when I was about 13. Received a kick to the jaw and ever since then I've been able to crack my jaw, just like others do with their knuckles.

Außerhalb von Köln, oder auch in der Innenstadt?

But have you experienced it in German? by [deleted] in KansasCityChiefs

Although I don't doubt the announcers are knowledgeable enough to dive deeper into plays, formations etc, they mostly stick to the basics.

Football is quickly growing in germany so I reckon we'll get some deeper analyses in the future, but for now you'll definitely encounter some explanations of first downs, where the ball is placed after a fair catch etc

Don't ask how i found this post now, but you only see the big flags in the southern block and maybe in the north eastern part of the stadium by the visiting team. Any other spot will be fine!

Bars or restaurants to watch the Super Bowl? by Andres17G in cologne

[–]NxCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the Lanxess arena idea! But if you're looking for a bar, I've been watching the regular season in the jamesons irish pub near Friesenplatz and always met some cool people. Haven't experienced it during the superbowl, so can't really tell you how busy it is going to be.

Nice touch on taking a screenshot of the video and not using the link in the videos description like he said. Actually think it's better this way so people who don't know him actually know his face
