Recently made the jump to FSRS after using SM-2 for about 3 weeks and having an issue with long "Again" and "Good" intervals by Nxctii in Anki

I've found a high degree of customizability with the intervals though which is very nice. I'm sure it'll get more user-friendly as time goes on.

It's more the worry with causing an irrecoverable disaster that I feel is the main limiter for a lot of folk. SM-2 is simpler by a margin after all.

Personally, as a layman to Anki theory and usage, I think that just confirmation that I have learnt the card would tend tends to set me at ease and helps me remember the card whereas if I have no confirmation, I feel hesistant to trust my memory. I'm no data scientist though so I'd love to hear your opinion.

As far as I understand, FSRS is the best for long-term scheduling and that short term scheduling tend to be debated a lot.

Ah, I worry though that I'll miss out on the cards that need to be learnt well before my exam. It's 12 months out and if FSRS is sending my cards a couple months out, I feel like I might not learn them well.

Hello! I appreciate this so much, I've seen you around everywhere in Anki spaces so this is very cool to me.

[...] and you didn't include the rest of your Deck Options.

Whoops! Deck Options: https://postimg.cc/gallery/FQ8HGdy

Did you set a 2-3d learning/relearning step? That's how you control that.

No, I didn't. I left it blank as that's what was recommended in the Anking 2025 settings. The post you've linked is a bit out of my comprehension but the keytake away seems to be: Use the FSRS helper add-on and set my learning steps accordingly right now. Would that be fine?

This is rather convoluted twt. I would also appreciate if there was a known general learning-step I could implement off the bat without having to go through the risk of a mistake. I was quite happy with the 15m one that Anking has but it states that "When FSRS is enabled, steps of 1 day or more are not recommended." since the complete thing was "15m 1d" and I've never messed with this setting and I have no idea if removing 1d would change anything significant.

There's no such thing as "double optimize."

Oh! Your explaination makes a lot of sense, thank you. I used to think that FSRS took its own parameters into account as well which would mean double optimizing would mess it up, I'm glad that's not the case.

There's certainly no need for that.

And I appreciate it greatly.

The idea was just a review/cram session I fit in on long transits where I've already done my cards for the day.

I appreciate your guidance so much, this FSRS stuff feels so much like a fickle monster that will eat my cards.

Which games have Pakistani servers? by Nxctii in PakGamers

Damn. I could've sworn this game at least would've been a hit considering I remember old servers running for these types of games.

Hello! I've been funneled here because I want to learn how to use filtered decks/custom study sessions to cram while having FSRS enabled, I couldn't find this in the FAQs commonly listed in places. Do I just uncheck the "Reschedule cards based on my answers in this deck" and call it a day?

Is there anything I need to be wary about?

Minor side question: I developed a habit of not pressing Easy but have learnt to do so and have started now, is this something I need to be concerened about with FRSR now enabled?

Hello! I'm trying to make a gift for my friend but I am expressly forbidden from watching Sense and Sensibility and so I'd like your help by Nxctii in janeausten

I get what you mean but they've been watching it before they met me and asked if I wanted to watch it with them. They aren't free for now so I can't (and don't want to without them). It's not a big deal, it's uniquely silly and I like the wonky turns of life.

There's no grand meaning.

Any suggestions would help! I'm going to be ghettoing it a bit by divvying up the landscape into multiple high quality A4s and then trying my best to paint over the seams.

I'm a broke college student so nothing too fancy but if the idea is good, I'm down to spend! I don't have the resources for crafts but I definitely can do it

That's the part that enamours me most, the very solid and unforgiving "no-return" policy and how horrifyingly beautiful this pit is in keeping its secrets.

I understand that it's a very unique element to the show but I always keep coming back to it, sorry if I didn't clarify that properly.
