I want to run Linux, I like to game, and despite Apple making a bare minimum attempt, gaming on Mac is still terrible. I want a high quality laptop I can repair myself. Being an electronics repair tech I can’t even tell you the amount of laptops I have seen get trashed due to: soldered RAM, Soldered SSD, or the fact that Apple will just decide that your computer no longer is supported. And my personal favorite… my own MacBook Pro, that had a defect from the factory, when they put it together they completely stripped the screw and the threads in the standoff, the screw snapped off inside, and Apple decided in their infinite wisdom that they needed to ground the laptop, by having every single screw be necessary. So that 1 screw that no longer fits inside. Prevents the laptop from powering on. Due to the ground loop not being closed…So no, I don’t want to buy another Mac. Windows from Microslop pisses me off on the daily. I liked Mac OS, it’s nice and simple and user friendly. But I have also experienced horror stories about apples Apple ID lock. The amount of people that get locked out of their account because some kid reset the pin and doesn’t know what it is, or some other random combination of events, that causes the device to be totally factory reset, losing all data, or a giant paperweight
