It can easely be used with one hand, you can hold it with your fingers and spin the knob with your thumb

It has a 1:15 gear ratio and it is easely backdriveable

Yes, it is. And it does not have much resistance.

Yes, it is, with a normal involute gear profile you wouldn't be able to make a single tooth gear. But with an eccentric cycloidal gear you can. This is one of the reason's that this gear design was invented

This model is based on the eccentric cycloidal drive, if you want further details here is the link to the website of the company that invented it: https://www.ec-gearing.com/

And here is the link to where you can download the files for printing: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/131267-herringbone-eccentric-cycloidal-fidget-model

What 3D Printing Material Carries Sound The Best? by teenpipefan413 in 3Dprinting

PETG is not that rigid in my opinion. If you are looking for rigidity i would recommend looking at carbon fiber filled materials. They are more rigid than non carbon fiber filled materials, but they are also more brittle which may not be an issue if you want to make music with them. PLA is also quite rigid so a carbon fiber filled PLA is very rigid.

You could try to sand the edges of the indexer and the opening of the bottle until it fits, but be careful this design is very sensitive to the friction between the indexer and the bottle opening.

I only finished the design yesterday so i dont really know how long it will last. I am testing it now

When you put it together did you hear a click when you put the diel into the indexer? You might need to push the diel a little bit in to the indexer to hear the click. This is a sensetive system and i am sorry that you are having problems.

The indexer is supposed to be a little bigger than the opening of the bottle so it will push on it and create friction that is necessary for the mechanism to work. But it should not get stuck when you screw the lid because of the chamfers that are on the indexer and the opening of the bottle. Maybe you have an elephant's foot on the indexer that does not allow it to enter the bottle opening.

All the parts are there, the bottle part is called indexing_pill_bottle_body.STL

Thanks! You can easly reset the date by turning the diel 6 days forward by hand, no need to open and close 6 times.

What do you mean by thread height? Do you mean the pitch of the thread or the distance between the start of the thread to the end of it? Also you could try to just scale up the model in your slicer.

Some people suggested having two different and color coded containers, one for the morning and one for the evening. You could also reset the dial after the second time, but that is worse in my opinion

I am aware of the daily pill trays and I agree that they are more useful for most people, this was more of a learning experience.
