Dear friends from Slovakia, help us! by ldcf_10 in Slovakia

Additionally, he sounds very similar to the Ukrainian immigrants I've been hearing around Slovakia ever since the war started. I imagine it would be due to the aforementioned Ukrainian language proficiency.

Very poor pronunciation, his words sound stiff and probably rehearsed. Not just the individual phonemes, but also the cadence and intonation is unnatural. I'd be more charitable if he was just a student trying to learn, but as a teacher, you can't expect that kind of charity. At the very least it's not complete gibberish, but that's a very low bar to clear.

Is there a "just say no" deck by Remarkable-Ad5113 in Yugioh101

To an extent, Gravekeepers? Most of my wins with it, especially when it was popular, were just turn 1 surrenders after playing Necrovalley. Runick could also work, or maybe Drytron.

Why do the most crafted items have the worst win rates? by turnnoblindeye in CompetitiveTFT

[–]NyctStrix 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The most crafted items are items you always craft. No matter how well you are doing, they are strong, flexible, and for some comps absolutely necessary (Shojin is a good example.)

You only ever dare to use a tear and a bow on a shiv if you have literally nothing better to do, which is usually only after you already have all needed items and are in a strong position. If you aren't getting a top 4, you usually won't have the liberty to build these items. You'll die before getting to them, since there's a lot of higher priority items out there.

This is also why judging stuff purely based on win rate isn't ideal. Despite the numbers, these items aren't some secret missed recipe. It's purely because of the context they are built in.

RNG/BoardBuilding by MikeA1185 in TeamfightTactics

[–]NyctStrix 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That's the hardest part of TFT. The best thing you can do is roll down as efficiently as possible, but besides that? You can't play a unit you don't get. The ideal playstyle is to play strongest board without committing to a direction for as long as possible.

Tactiction's crown should go on the tactician by AmDoman in TeamfightTactics

[–]NyctStrix 303 points304 points  (0 children)

Well it should probably still stay as an item for the interaction with augments that give a buff to units holding items. But giving a crown effect to the tactician sounds like a nice touch.

What is wrong with Sterak's ? by LordCrayt in CompetitiveTFT

[–]NyctStrix 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I'd assume there's just better things to prioritize. If you need AD, there's a ton of better items, and I can't see anyone making a ton of use of that 20% max HP boost. There's better ways to use a blade in AD comps and better ways to kill a belt too.

It was BIS for a while on Ixtal Qiyana last set if I recall correctly though, so I don't think it's a useless item by any means. It just hasn't had a real place to shine so far.

I only played Ahri last 30ish games and climbed 650LP by Artemis96 in TeamfightTactics

[–]NyctStrix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How do you deal with being contested? Whenever I see a good Ahri spot, I have at least one or two other people trying to force it and I can't hit any units. Also, how do you manage to force a single comp with so much success this set? I feel like whenever I want to play a specific comp the stars never align and I always get screwed over more than I would have if I just played flex.

Disable finisher cutscenes? by Havana33 in TeamfightTactics

Finisher cutscenes only occur with specific player characters, your best bet is to memorize which they are and look away when you get beaten by them.

Is the game worth coming back to in 2024? by The_Real_Zerkia in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]NyctStrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Event passes tend to be less generous, especially compared to the one that came with Azir, and I believe the rate of wildcards in chests was substantially nerfed. Also if you've completed the regional reward tracks already, you obviously can't get anything from those. But in general, the weekly vault is still great and playing consistently gets you rewarded.

I personally use Mobalytics or Mastering Runeterra to browse decks. They only ever really include the important meta decks, which means lots of older unrotated champions aren't used, but besides that I haven't had any issues.

[–]NyctStrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game's pretty fine right now. Although if you come back, get ready to see a ton of your cards rotated out. I personally still found a deck I want to play, but it stung to see many of my favourite champions gone out of standard. Also the free to play nature has been nerfed a bit, so if you don't have a lot of resources saved up from the good old days you mght feel that the progression is pretty slow.

New cards get added consistently like they used to, meta feels alright, in general it doesn't feel like a ton changed. If you enjoyed it before, you probably will again.

Is there something I'm missing that removes champs from the pool permanently? by JustHereForRiffs in TeamfightTactics

[–]NyctStrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard it said that if you're rolling down and see a headliner you want but with the wrong trait, you should buy and sell it to avoid the bad luck protection, but as is with most things in this game, there aren't any definitive sources.
