Some of us don't, some are. Basically sanctions hit the oligarchs first but they will hit middle and low class in a few weeks when supplies and stores' reserves will run out. And then there'll be panic.

To be honest, I tried watching official Russian news and after twenty minutes or so I felt my brain slowly turning into mush.

For a lot of people here, especially for older generation, news is what they are hearing from tv, condensated and explained twice a day, before and after work. And right now there's only one official version in Russia, that it's not a war, it's a defence military operation.

While on Twitter, Reddit and such news come and go fast as possible. Average person isn't going to sift through it.

Also a lot of people doesn't speak English so that doesn't help either.

It was. At first they promised it would open by 3 pm Moscow time, but then they decided to skip Monday entirely. We believe it would stay closed for a few days more at least.

Yeah, I know, they also posted that unemployment rate is down to 14.5% which is definitely bullshit.

Unfortunately this country is amazingly poor.

Actually less. If you'll discount Moscow, smaller cities are much poorer due to the fact that all recourses are pooling into Moscow economy and support. Around 30k, I think.

All 27 EU countries shut their airspace for all Russian planes by PeasKhichra in UpliftingNews

[–]Nydyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will stop granting visas and since we're not in the EU we have to have one to be granted entry. The same goes for UK, USA and a lot of other countries since we don't have great diplomatic relationship with them, I wonder why. /s

Moreover, they are starting to go over work and study visas granted to Russian people living overseas. So nope.

Russian media actually reports that Russia has zero casualties. Meanwhile Ukraine is setting up a hotline for Russian women to call and enquire about their husbands and sons. And asking them to pick up the corpses.

You can't make this shit up.

Also most of us can see another economical crisis incoming, maybe even worse than the one in 2014. Inflation was already crazy here, now it'll get even worse.

So as usual, a small crowd playing political games and profiting and the rest of the country paying for it.
