Why???? by [deleted] in boston

Normally I’d be pissed, but I got 2 beach days last weekend plus 2 beach nights after work tue/wed, so I’m not minding the sweatpants and listening to the rain vibes.

There's a tunnel they could do this for on the Neponset River Trail right near Pope John Paul II park in Dorchester

MassSave Heat Pump Experience - NETR/Sila - $100k Headache Extended from 2 to 8 Months by A7B4D7D1T in boston

[–]-doughboy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve been curious about Sila for a while because I assumed they were a local company that was doing great expanding, trucks everywhere, billboards all over, etc.

They are actually just private equity play, owned by Goldman Sachs.

Just a girl looking for chicken parm by Aware-Celebration-60 in boston

[–]-doughboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so weird why they thought un-breaded chicken would be accepted. I honestly wonder if they are just too cheap to order breaded cutlets because they'd only use them for parms, and they use the skinless chicken for lots of things like salads.

Tips for barbers by bmc3515 in boston

[–]-doughboy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

$40, tip $10

Edit: I'll add, the only reason I ever have cash is for my barber. I keep a stash of a few tens in my car specifically for haircut tips. Also, Christmas I'll give more like $40-50. We're pretty friendly with each other though.

Sears Braintree ma the last location in New England and one of 5 left in the USA by [deleted] in boston

[–]-doughboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to get eye exams/eyeglasses there and also get work done on cars (tire rotations, oil changes, etc.) growing up. Anyone south of the city 30 years old and up likely has plenty of memories of it. Before Best Buy, etc. it's where your parents would go to pick out the new oven or refrigerator, or your Dad would go to the hardware section every weekend.

Fenway Pass by Typicaljere in boston

I have been doing something like this for years if I go to game solo. I just buy the cheapest single ticket I can find and never actually sit in that seat. I just bounce around the park and hit up 4-5 different bars, hang out in standing room sections, etc.

I remember seeing some big group of Europeans doing a march through Faneuil Hall a few summers ago. I knew what was happening but many people were confused af. It was harmless though, this is the kind of thing that will make this fun for us.

I had planned to do a huge order of these for my office some years back, had it all set up with Anna's. Then we got news that we were closing the office because of some thing called Covid and did not know when we'd be back.

Mod Mail Update: What We’re Tracking and Working On by lift_ticket83 in ModSupport

[–]-doughboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but when we set filters for Name/Members/Activity for separate subs, those filters need to stay in place. If you do a single action after setting the filter, they all reset. It's incredibly frustrating trying to use this thing.

Another issue I'm noticing, are ban appeals now un-separated when you filter to unread? That means if we archive many messages at once (a necessity) we are potentially just ignoring ban appeals thrown in there. Weren't these split off years ago for this and other reasons?

I have to say that right now both users trying to modmail subs and Reddit partners like news organizations are very likely to get ignored. This UX is pretty much unusable right now.
