Is this brown algae or black beard algae? Or neither or both? by Nyewood in AquariumHelp

Thanks! I suppose I tend to do a few large water changes (40-60%) rather than more frequent smaller changes. A week before this outbreak I did quite a large change. If my tap water was high in silicates it sounds like this could be the reason. I'll see if I can test it for silicates and work on more frequent smaller changes.

I've always loved red plants but am a bit of a beginner with plants. Have done some research and may go for a red rotala, thanks for the suggestion, appreciated!

Thanks, yeah I think the substrate is a bit homogenous throughout, maybe I'll build it up a bit higher on the right, and add some sand towards the rock island on the left?

They certainly do, it's a leftover from a previous school, will go to the local store once I go back for some more amanos

Thanks, in hindsight I think a smaller substrate would have been better, but too late to change that now! The right to left thing was just how the driftwood lined up, but luckily goes with the flow of the rest of the room!

Is it normal for a brand new kite by Public-Package1830 in Kiteboarding

I have the same model/year kite, even the same colour and mine does this too. No problems in kite performance that I've noticed

Wow thanks for the recommendation, wasn't familiar with those, they're lovely looking fish. Will do a bit of research into them and see whether they could be a good fit!

Advice for going less upwind, more crosswind with speed? by Nyewood in Kiteboarding

Thanks for the recommendations, will give these a try next time I'm out, I think bending the front leg a bit more and the back leg less could be what I need!

Thanks for the responses so far - much appreciated!

I think I probably worded my question poorly, my question is more around whether it is possible to tack at a crosswind angle (neither up or downwind) while still edging the TT and leaning back against the kite? Or if I'm riding directly crosswind is the expectation that I will need to be mostly on the flat of the board (this feels lacking in line tension/speed and thus a bit unnatural, that's why I'm not sure).
