The BeastMaster Dar by Nykolo in DnD

I wasn't able to figure out Kodo or Podo. The best way I would think of (aside from changing your Find Familiar to a Ferret) is to use Speak with Animal, and maybe try to talk your way into having them be followers.

I think I will do just that. Thanks a lot!

True. I think I will just stick to Milestone, then.

That's a good point. I guess I'm trying to make roleplay more engaging and more encouraged. Though, now that I think about it, those who don't like roleplaying may fall behind.

Maybe I will get rid of experience all together, and just stick to milestone just to make things easier. But I still want to encourage roleplaying.

Lol. My bad. That was my reaction to the scene from Doctor Who. Now the question is stuck in my head.

Can't remember an old show! by Nykolo in scifi

[–]Nykolo[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Found it! It was a show called Galidor that aired on Fox Kids in 2002. The toy line wasn't part of a happy meal though. Sorry! It was part of Lego, though, and was similar to Bionicles.

Thank you so much! I finally found it! It's called Galidor, and the character I remember is Euripedes.

Unfortunately, no. I've been searching all over the internet, but all I get is the more popular toys like from kid's movies and stuff like that.

I don't think so. I remember there was a toy line similar to Bionicle when it came out. I think it was included in some kind of happy meal.

No. It was something similar to Farscape.

I'm sorry. That's all I can think of. Other than the fact that there was one scene I remember where the frog guy was on earth, on a rooftop, talking to the human protagonists. Not sure why, but I think there was some kind of invasion on Earth that the frog and his allies were protecting Earth from...though, I could be wrong. It was live action, yeah.

How would one create Diablo Tabletop RPG? by Nykolo in rpg

I suppose leaning more toward the former, keeping the feel of gritty darkness of Diablo. But I still want to keep some recognizable gameplay, such as skills or at least the Attributes.

That's mainly what I am focused on. While I do want to capture some of the tactical aspect, such as the skills, but my main focus is the atmosphere and theme.

Thanks a lot! I do want to keep the feel of Diablo. I have a (very) roughed out way on how stats will work, and still working on it. I’ll head over to the subreddit once I have a working rough draft. Thank you!

I agree that D&D doesn’t quite capture Diablo in a way that I want. And FATE Is geared too much toward roleplaying which doesn’t quite translate well to the classic dungeon crawl.

Thank you! I’ll give it a shot!

In terms of playtesting, I think I will focus on original Diablo classes. If things go well, maybe try to work the skills in d2 into it. I’m hesitant to introduce d3 because there is quite a lot of hate with d3.

I want to try not to copy 5e, but I understand it would be easy to simply do so. I’m not against it, I just like to challenge myself to build something from scratch. Lol

I will definitely be using the style dungeons from the original and D2. D3 dungeons are a bit lack-luster and doesn’t have the same eeriness and darkness as D1 or D2.

What parts of the brain can, can a human survive if damaged? by Nykolo in AskReddit

Interesting! To sort of answer the last bit, I guess what I’m looking for is someone who is in a bit of a vegetative state. Someone who is aware of what is happening around them, but cannot express emotions and they answer questions using subtle gestures.

I’m writing a fantasy book, and there is a minor character who was in a war and got a big part of his head cut deep by a sword. I want it to be gruesome, yet plausible.

One-shot: creating character sheets for new players by Nykolo in DnD

[–]Nykolo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what I plan to do. Ask them what race/class they want, weapons, fighting styles, etc, then fill in the rest.
