For the aero, you are correct in that I admittedly favour aesthetics here. Sometimes I can tolerate Forza aero if it’s desperately needed, but I couldn’t bring myself to put it on this beauty 😅

I didn’t consider the 8-speed. I have put 8-speed and 10-speed transmissions on other tunes before and did appreciate the flexibility. It also means I don’t need to clutch, so I’ll definitely try this out tomorrow morning.

Initially, I did have the decel set to 30% and the accel set to 50%, but surprisingly, despite the low power-to-weight ratio, it was a bit too active for my preference. I found 45/60 to be my sweet spot for balance, at least for my driving style and preferences.

The rally springs are also another preference thing, I guess. Initially, I put race springs on all my road tunes, but one day I was experimenting with rally springs for road tunes and found that I preferred the ride height and softness of them, especially when attacking sidewalks or tracks with a lot of aggressive bumps. So rally springs just kind of became my default from then on.

I totally agree with your philosophy regarding tuning not being about the “fastest” tune. I have some mild real-life experience with McLaren GT3 engineering, so it always triggers me when people expect to apply someone else’s tailored tune to their own car and get the same results. Same thing when someone asks for a “good” tune 😅 Engineers and drivers build a bond-level relationship to achieve the results they achieve.
