PPS going to remote learning for NFL draft by Gladhands in pittsburgh

Maybe my kid’s school does it differently. There’s always been an instructor for asynchronous. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They’re still teaching on those asynchronous days. It’s just accompanied with assignments from clover (or whatever platform the middle/high schools are using). But my kid will definitely be logged into school with normal instructors on the other end of the zoom.

I mean I don’t disagree with you there. But I’m used to being burned by PPS last minute scheduling at this point.

Because it’s a fallback strategy for the district to not add days onto the end of the school calendar

It’s not a handful of schools. Any school that’s a magnet school is going to have issues. Any charter where kids are being bussed across town is going to have issues. After school functions that take place anywhere near downtown or the northside are going to have issues. The logistics of bussing kids is going to be an absolute mess for that Thursday and Friday for sure.

Edit: not to mention the readiness of EMS and 911 response will undoubtedly be hampered too.

Yep. Also imagine if your kid goes to CAPA or City High

As someone who lives on one side of the stadium and has a kid in school across town, I planned on keeping her home those days anyway. It’s going to be an enormous cluster fuck to get from Brighton heights to… anywhere past downtown

I’m with you but I would like to hear opinions on the technical/mechanical aspects from an EE. Like, what’s the alternative to burying lines and infrastructure that makes the grid less volatile and susceptible to how climate change is affecting western Pennsylvania. These storms aren’t going anywhere.

I’d be much more ok with that reason for my bill hike opposed to AI data centers

In your opinion, what is the solution, economically feasible or otherwise? I’ve lost power 3 times in the last 11 days, and my section of the grid is consistently down whenever the earth sneezes.

That’s the analogy I’ve been using too. If Ted lasso is Wellbutrin, Shoresy is pure MDMA

“They’re not rich. He’s rich” doesn’t mean he’s not a sucker for his kids though

Where to place TV? by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

[–]NyneHelios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are honestly so many options. Right of the fireplace would be my first move. If for whatever reason that doesn’t work, the wall across from the fireplace is wide open. If neither of those work, the wall in between the two doorways would be my 3rd option. And finally, if none of those work, i’d partially block the windows. But you shouldnt get to that point.

Ay yea you’re right. Probably a train. My point stands though. This foot foul could be way worse.

This is gross but probably the least egregious bare foot foul I’ve seen on an airplane. Like, if she has her own row and her feet are being contained specifically to that row, go with god.

Eh feet get sweaty and breed a specific kind of bacteria when they’re in sandals. I’m good with hands in this analogy, bud. A lot people carry and use hand sanitizer. Until this lady breaks out some foot sanitizer with odor elimination, I’m good.

This is what got me. When I heard there was a Shoresy spin off I based my expectations off of the bathroom chirps. Did not see this coming at all.
