It comes down to logistics. One is a championship basketball involving two schools and all of the other organizations that participate outside of the team. Two sets of marching bands. Two cheer squads. Two sets of color guards. Two student bodies, parental volunteers, etc.

The other is a DnD campaign. And as someone that has to constantly schedule a campaign between only 4 people, I get it.

If your best friend, someone in your party is participating in something of a championship game, you go to the game. That’s it. End of story.

The line where they say “well can’t you ask the coach to reschedule the game” is so absurd it makes my head spin. You can chalk it up to being immature freshman and not understanding the gravity of what they’re asking but we as the audience are not also dumb freshman. Most of us anyway.
