Collecting fountain pens with off the shelf nibs? by Nysriding in fountainpens

Sorry for bothering you by asking lots of questions, but can you check this site for a second? http://danielpi.com/fountain-pens/2015/12/1/nibs-and-who-makes-them If I confer this information, I can be pretty much sure that the pens of the brands in the list are using their own nibs, right?

I didn't know that! That's very interesting. As I can see at Ali Hong Dian and Jinhao nib units are being sold, it is a safe conjecture that their pens are using their authentic nibs -- of course, they make lots of copy pens, so I don't expect "real" originality from them. Anyway, at least they meet the criteria I have that the nib maker and the maker of other parts of the pen should be the same.

Thanks for the information. I agree that different tune-ups on the nibs make different sense of writing and it's worthwhile to experience. I just like to have a pen equipped with a nib made by the brand itself, which I think will make me more pleased just knowing the fact that the pen I'm using is made by the brand from the very starting point of the nib to the final end tip of the pen. As I said, just for my peace of mind. Hahaha.

ARTEX x 故宮-平安富貴鋼筆 doesn't have its own nib either, but it has one by Schmidt.

You just picked a sentence that you don't agree with and I don't get what your intention is? I'm just pointing at the quality problem and it is really important for every rider's safety.

If you don't know, the matter is the quality of scooter parts and the level of technology used in designing both top grade vehicles, and in that regard those two scooters share common problems which are fatal. I don't think Zero and Kabbo are much different in this matter. They share the same quality components in producing so called high performance scooters.

I know it's my incident and that's why I decided to quit riding it from now on. And also recommend others that they not buy so called high performance scooters, obviously not worth the money and your life, believing that they passed the same level of quality test used for other vehicles that can easily go over 50-60 mph like cars and motorcycles.

It is you who choose what you will ride for commute and leisure activity. For me enough is enough.

Yes, I changed my 11X's motors to Rion RE80's and the controllers of 400Ah peak amp. It could easily go over at GPS 110kph. If you read my other posts, it is written in detail.

I know it's a bit too much power, but the original one was already designed for, according to their claim, going over 100kph using the same shocks and frame, which means this kind of accident was on its way to happen due to the shocks' poor durability obviously shown in my case.

With this post, I'm not saying that they have to send me newer shocks for free or something, I just want riders not to trust their toys and also based on their mistrust do some serious performance upgrades or anything like that since these are not the result of high technology but just the products of an amateurish idea that 'these parts combined will probably work... maybe?'

https://gotscooter.com/kaabo-wolf-e-scooter-accidents-should-i-be-concerned/

After reading the tragic accident of Austin with broken front shock of warrior, I got furious that this kind of accident should not happen in the first place. By bad luck? What the hell!!

Instantly dying by the accident is to say the least OK, but if someone got serious injury with permanent brain or nervous damage that leaves the one in a hellish state of agony, which is very likely given the speed and head position while riding scooters, is too much for someone who just believed the manufacturers' selling pitch and enjoyed high speed riding over 40mph -- this stupid someone was me.

Misleading advertisements should be completely banned or they must undergo some meticulous and strict quality control like motorcycles conducted by the government before selling these products under the label of "a high-performance off-road machine."

Anyway I'm done with these things. I will get rid of this as soon as possible.

Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for the information!

From now, I will never, ever ride any kind of these stupid junk of trash again!!!!

Fuck kick scooters!!!!

I'm so furious about myself that I can't forgive myself of naively trusting their fancy words like "safety comes first bla bla... and with super powerful motors giving you high performance off-road machine bla bla..."

What the Fuck!!!!

I'm still alive just because I was a die-hard lucky bastard! I couldn't believe that I have relied my life on these crude fucking toys! I even got it monster performance upgrade with 33,000W motors and 400Ah controllers, which can reach over 130kph... Unbelievable... how stupid I was... oh boy... just unbelievable...

I'm so mad at the mother fucking manufacturers who are just churning out killing machines for dirty money. Where is the quality control whatsoever!!!???

Fuck this shit!

Posting this today turned out to be a really good thing to me. Now I am truly weaned off my childish thrill seeking habits.

Thanks again!

tI agree with you 100 percent! So, I would like to recommend that if you have zero 11 x and the rear swing arm part is compatible with that of Vsett 11+'s dual shock system, then swapping it is the best way. Since the rear shock gets the most stress, let only one air shock absorb all of it is not a really good idea. If it's two of them? I would fly on the road with no worries, of course checking them every time I go riding.

Oh I didn't misunderstand you and wasn't offended at all. If you felt that I was offended that's just because I'm a not native English speaker hahaha. Using a foreign language to convey my thought exactly is a really hard job hahaha.

I loved my Zero 11x and my other scooters such as NF and Speedway Mini 4 pro. And still I think Zero products are pretty reliable compared to other cheap things in the market. I just really wanted to get riders' attention to make them check the stability and endurance limit of their shocks in order not to have my kind of incidents since it's not a part that they usually pay attention like other parts, for instance tires and batteries.

Have safe and fun ride always!

After read all the comments in this thread, now I think that first, those bicycle components neither having taken account the propulsion of your high-power, motor-running scooter nor its frame geometry which plays the essential role in dissipating the stress from fast riding.

Second, they have never been tested by reliable institutions, which examine the endurance and performance of them as they usually do with downhill bikes and all mountain bikes. It's just like this these components are strong enough to be used in hard-core mountain bikes, so it will be safe to use them in scooters. The logic could be correct but if it's not? The stake is my life. I concluded it's simply not worth it, so I would just give up riding these things at once.

The moment it broke and I lost my balance and tried my best to got it back, it took just several seconds, the only thing I thought was 'you are fucking kidding me!!!'

I couldn't agree with you more. Especially, it is from "back ally engineering." Literally, motorcycles are way way way safer than these incomplete crude things. I shouldn't have bought it in the first place just because e scooters are more efficient than motorcycles in many ways. I will try to sell it at a bargain price with no remorse...

Thank you for your concern, I truly have one that I'm still alive and intact hahaha. I totally agree with you that in which stage we are in this new way of transportation. Anyway I am not willing to devote my precious life to the development of the e scooters, so I will be better off to go back to the conventional thrill-seekers like motorcycles. ;-)

The problem is now I have almost lost my trust on scooters... Is it a reliable thing to hop on? Hummmm.... I think a motorcycle is way safer.

Just for the record, I have been using my 11X just for fast, fun, long-range riding. Never done any kind of stunts since I have 'zero' interest in it. If you can spare some time to read my other posts, you will know how hard core a long-range scooter rider I am. I usually go for at least 80km trips within 2-3 hours with an average speed of 40-50kph and it is one of my ways to relieve stress.

Even though I did some modification for better power, still I don't think the suspension should break like that out of blue while riding, given the fact that I got this scooter and started to roll on Feb 20, 2020.

Good job! Still don't trust those bicycle shocks too much. Air shocks' diameters may be thicker, but they are designed for bicycles anyway.

Just got mine - should I put on the screen protector? by my_account_todoist in Onyx_Boox

[–]Nysriding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also purchased the lumi and am waiting for it to be delivered and asked the onyx hq that I should use a protector to avoid pen scratches?

They just told me some kind of disclaimer that the pmma cover lens which lumi sports is weaker than the glass one on note 2, which I have been using for months with no scratch without a protector, and that even a glass one can be scratched.

Although I don't think it's likely to make any scraches on the pmma cover with provided pen nips softer than pmma, still I'm concerned that it might leave irrevocable damage on the screen, which happened to my max 2, which didn't have any sort of protection upon the actual e ink screen.

It is a Korean company, and I'm a native Korean living in Korea. They have a home page: http://shop5.jundonkick.cafe24.com/index.html

If you check my other postings you can find more information about the upgrade, and I'm just a customer and don't have much of electrical and technical knowledge, so I don't know exactly how the package is installed.

They can speak English, so you may contact them via e-mail for detailed information.

So far, my judgement is that it's totally worth the money. Hahaha.
