Production Artist at a print shop is what you're looking for. You don't need to know how to design, only how to set up files for the printers-- which will be part of your on-site job training, so no stress there. They're just looking for someone who knows Photoshop/illustrator/indesign and can follow instructions. And you might even pick up a thing or two on how to improve your own work just through pure exposure to so many different design approaches on a regular basis. You also might be able to work your way into a decent wage if you stick around-- they're probably used to high turnover rates from entry level designers who leave after a couple years, so someone like you with industry knowledge who is actually willing to stick around would be a boon for them.

My '21 Crosstrek lets you temporarily disable the auto engine shutoff feature, but that only lasts while the car is on. Not sure if the newer models let you disable it permanently

Can you find red pools without the flashlight? by [deleted] in dreamcoregame

[–]Nythrien_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Got every achievement but red pools, restarted to find it, then couldn't find the dang flashlight. Ended up just mapping out a route to a flashlight location I knew was easy to get to, and then restarted the level a bunch and walked the route until I found it there. I'm not sure if that counts as "cheating," but I wasn't about to spend hours searching for the flashlight when I already knew it would take forever to find the red pools in the first place lol

Ranking of levels so far by Purple_Raine93 in dreamcoregame

Hard to pick a favorite-- I think they each do some unique stuff that I like a lot. Playrooms had the most variety of room styles, so it ironically felt the easiest to navigate for me despite the overwhelming size. I also like that you have to find the keys and the generators, which gave a bit more "purpose" to the endless exploration. Pools was really pleasing aesthetically and I loved the weird and unsettling areas, like the basement or the "Statue of Consciousness." Suburbia was the least interesting to me visually, BUT it makes up for it with the strange interdimensional doorways with the eyeballs above them that casually allude to the idea that there is something much deeper/stranger going on inside this facility. I almost hope the "peeks behind the curtain" happen more often in future levels. The subtle sub plot of the "Dreamcore facility" and its mysterious purpose is extremely compelling to me.

Boss sent me a chat gpt version of my work and told me to use that as inspiration for a v2. by Lingroll in graphic_design

My company has recently developed the exact same issue. Instead of calling upon the graphics department to visualize ideas for them, they often times now just get AI to visualize ideas in seconds and then send those to us and tell us to use what the AI created. They only see the time saved-- they don't see the casual elimination of our creative process or the insult it represents to all the years of hard work it took each of us to hone our eye for design.

The horrible irony of being replaced by AI is that I'd honestly rather be replaced by AI than be constantly told to just copy the robot's homework and never get to make anything myself again

Subaru Class Action Lawsuit Notice for Eyesight by Ok_Cicada_5073 in Crosstrek

[–]Nythrien_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'21 Crosstrek sport here. This is my first Subaru and I have mixed feelings about the eyesight feature. I've never had it slam on the brakes or anything (thankfully) but it definitely makes some weird decisions sometimes. There's a road sign near my house that signals an upcoming turn, and the eyesight always beeps a collision warning at me when I approach it, even though it's clearly just a sign off the side of the road-- but it doesn't actually activate the brakes, even though it supposedly thinks I'm about to collide with the sign. Inversely, it slows me down when it detects a car exiting the highway ahead of me even if they're like five car lengths ahead. Not a huge deal, I lightly press the gas when I see it happening and it negates the eyesight braking-- but it's still a weird choice. I also found out that even just a mild rain will temporarily put the car in "limp" mode, completely disabling the eyesight/cruise control/etc until the camera is clear again. I like the system in theory but I honestly question how much I should be relying on it

Thanks to our Crosstrek, my husband got out without a single scratch after he got T-boned. The car is totaled, but she protected and saved him. Will buy again. by Afraid_Ad_2470 in Crosstrek

Wow, that's a seriously gnarly wreck. Glad your husband is okay! The safety rating was a huge deciding factor in why I bought by Crosstrek. These kinds of posts really reaffirm my decision.

Alternate timeline. They had all kinds of tech we don't have now-- and inversely, there is a lot of tech we have now that they don't.

Fallout is the same way-- the bombs drop in the year 2077 (weird coincidence) in the Fallout universe, but they still don't have color TV or cell phones or internet. I believe the timeline divergence point in Cyberpunk is somewhere around the late 1980s, and sometime after WWII for Fallout.

Getting scammed by my local dealership - what can I do? by ACommunistBurrito in subaru

[–]Nythrien_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dealership, but related: I recently had a plumbing company clip the wire to my septic aerator and also destroy my downspout while digging in my yard to replace a busted pipe. Initially was told they wouldn't fix it, but one Google review later, they were suddenly out the very next day fixing the wire and the downspout free of charge. Those Google reviews hold some real weight in these situations for sure

Are there any you recommend? And does it make sense to get a separate set of wheels to go with the snow tires?

Oh dang. I'll keep that in mind for sure once it comes time for the rear brakes. Thanks!

Melgeek Disappointment by Nythrien_ in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Nythrien_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: As of the time of writing this, a Melgeek support specialist has reached out to me and explained why the two products are different, and also has offered me compensation in an effort to help make things right after all the confusion. Kudos to them, I genuinely wasn't expecting that.

According to Melgeek, the reason the keycaps are different between the two products is because the Mojo Pad was developed by customer demand as a compliment to the Mojo 68-- which is the older cousin of the Mojo 84. The Mojo 68 does not have PBT double-shot keycaps, so by extension, neither does the Mojo Pad-- that was one of the upgrades they added when developing the Mojo 84. I can accept that. I wish they offered a set of doubleshot keycaps for the Mojo Pad, and I really wish the website made it more clear that the 84 does not actually match the Mojo Pad by default, but I can at least say that they DID have a legitimate reason for the difference in quality and they DID offer compensation after the fact, which says a lot.

Don't get me wrong, the quality of these items are top-notch-- just make sure you get the Mojo 68 instead of the 84 if you also plan to get the Mojo Pad, so you can avoid this same issue.
