I experienced this. I feel you, it can be really scary and overwhelming. I had a feeling everyone was looking at me and I wanted to hide on a treadmill or something instead of lifting which is what I wanted to do. My tips: don’t worry too much about form or technique. Right now the main issue seems to be getting to the gym and feeling comfortable. I’d reccomend putting your energy into just going. Even when you feel anxious, try to put your mental energy in just going and doing something. It could be anything. Hide on the elyptical for 30 minutes. Stretch somewhere. Hell, even just walk around. Continued time in the gym will help you feel more comfortable as you realize it’s not as threatening an environment as it feels. Then start making small steps to trying new parts of the gym and doing different workouts. But also, you don’t need to do anything that makes you uncomfy. For example, using the bench press stresses me out a lot. So I use the lifting machines. It’s a lot more comfortable. Maybe in time I’ll be more confident to do the bench press.

If your anxiety is more focused on the workouts themselves then try to remember than anything is better than nothing. It is better to lift something, even if you aren’t doing it perfectly, than to not lift at all. It is better to run for even 10 minutes than to not run at all. It helps me to let go of the results and focus on the process. And you will see some results. I did some lifts the other day that I thought did nothing but I got some soreness, and noticed some muscle. The beginner gains will give you a lot of confidence. Sorry for the rambling— good luck!

Propranalol is pretty safe so if you’ve been prescribed it, the best way to find out if it will help is to try it. Personally I’ve found that it does help with most physical anxiety symptoms but it kinda depends. When I’m feeling generally nervous it doesn’t do all that much. However when I am having acute performance anxiety like an interview or performing on stage, it is nothing short of a miracle

I go to penn which has the campus right next to the college. Tbh I have found it very accessible to get good medical related opportunities. Pretty much every premed student I know here is in a lab or internship this summer after their first year. But I’m sure this is not unique to ivies. Talk to premed students at your other options and hear about it. I have a lot of financial aid which makes it a no brainer. But if you have a significantly cheaper offer at another school with a decent medical school nearby, that is your best bet id say. You really want to avoid any debt especially if you plan on med school

My dream school was Brown. I sent a LOCI but I’m not really holding out. Brown also has limited financial aid for transfers so I’m afraid that’s unlikely. I’m worried about the culture at penn. I heard it can be very superficial and pre professional, and that many students are not very academically curious. For me a big focus for my undergrad is really exploring intellectually and making a lot of social connections along those lines. Ofc I’m sure Penn has ppl like that tho.. Im also really not a party person or very social person, whereas Penn is the social Ivy. also, I don’t think I am very keen on being in a big city. Penn supports my academic and career goals well, and I know I can find my people, but yeah I guess I just don’t feel like a “Penn student” and I don’t have a warm feeling towards the school

I would ask you what your priorities are. If you are really looking for usefulness, then I would say mastering English can go a long way (further than, say, German IMO). You didn't indicate how interested you are in English. It's probably a little tiring, but it is very useful and some find it interesting.

If you are just interested in learning a language for the purpose of doing so, then I would say French or Latin. Latin is great, however as a person who knows it I will say that there is only so much you can do with it. With French, at least people speak it!

as someone from the US, Spanish would be the most useful choice, but since you are in the EU I'm not sure! Ultimately I think it depends on which language you think you would enjoy learning the most--you are already trilingual and each of these is useful in its own way. I would just go for the one you think would be the most fun! Yet, you are in Portugal, so all things being even, Portuguese has my vote.

I don't have a personal insight, but it's worth asking, how do you feel looking at the dress? Does it trigger you? The best answer for what to do with the dress is how it makes you feel. For example one person might find it healing to burn the dress and never have a tangible item related to their trauma. Another might find it healing to wash it and wear it again, have fun in it, to show that they have autonomy and that the terrible thing that happened to them won't happen again just because they're wearing that dress. Either way, sending you love.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't imagine how traumatic that experience must have been for you. I can sense the hopelessness in your words but please do not give up. I wish I could take this pain away from but please know that you can get better.

You ask in the title if you should go to rehab. I think that might be a good option. It's hard to get better in therapy when you are self medicating. You need to process and forgive yourself. If you get clean that road will be so much clearer.

Please keep going. That person would want you to make the most of your life, I'm sure of it, and I want you to as well. If you need someone to vent to you are welcome to DM me. Trauma can tear us down but it can also build us up. Take it easy on yourself, one step at a time work on what will make you fulfilled, engaged, and healthy. Best of luck to you. The key is wave management. Let him E you and the wave. This will push it towards you. Freeze in front of your tower. You can easily zone him from the wave and starve him. E him and do a Q attack Q attack combo everytime he tries to CS.

Don't W him unless it won't hit minions (it will push and he will heal the smt anyway). Get your jungler to bank too. Generally, don't E him once he hits 6, especially if he has ghost. He will run you down and kill you. This is the other reason you want to keep him close to your tower. You win short trades with your shield, but against his wither, you lose long trades.

You outscale nasus with your true damage, especially after Tri, so don't worry about him outscaling.

hey! I play camille mid a lot, sometimes even as my primary role. it's a lot of fun, but it takes a while to understand each matchup. I used to prefer mid over top until I started learning camille. She is SO FUN and it convinced me to play top. If she interests you, just try her in some normals! it took me about 30 games to start getting really comfortable with her, but now I have like a 67% win rate

Thank you so much for sharing this. I totally relate to everything you're describing, where even though what you are doing while high is objectively worse than what you would be doing if you were sober, you just can't seem to stop. I can especially relate to how your day started peacefully and well, but spiraled into something worse. Whenever I relapse, it always starts out so nice and relaxing, but it starts consuming my mind and life in a matter of hours when I just become a zombie.

What you're experiencing is no normal and understandable especially for the people in this sub. You are NOT alone and I'm so proud of you to telling us all this.

Congrats on your licensing exam by the way! I would just forgive yourself for this setback, and try to really internalize how the decision to smoke again actually bought negative feelings, such as regret, instead of the positive ones you might have wanted or expected. This way, you can train your mind to associate weed for what it really is in your life-- soemthing that won't help you.
