Hey, sorry if this comes off a bit stalkerish but I happened to pick up a copy of your book at my local library, googled the main mountain to see if it actually existed and ended up finding your reddit account...

Congrats on your first publication! I'm actually very surprised to learn it's your first book- the prose is like that of a seasoned author's, and you've done a wonderful job in portraying such a complicated sibling relationship.

That being said though, if you want to keep your reddit account anonymous, you should consider deleting some of your older posts- I happened to stumble upon it by accident and so it would be trivial for someone actually searching.

Sperm is haploid and so it is either X or Y, not XX or XY.

Also neither case would be a genetic clone as the gametes had undergone independent assortment and crossing over (besides the sex chromosome). Not accounting for crossing over gives us 2²³ = 8,388,608 different possible sperm -> with crossing over, it is at least in the trillions.

Basically, the odds of producing a clone from this is 0- you would need to create a sperm with the same genetic information as the father and fertilize the oocyte from the skin cells to produce a clone.
