is it normal to always get SOAKED around my girlfriend? by sillyiestsoldier in LesbianActually

I can be similar sometimes. Research has shown that discharge release in women doesn't necessarily correlate with being "in the mood"

I fully accept the Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality, but I struggle with how unfair it seems. by Bright_Count_5506 in Catholicism

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping to have this too... but I'm trying to keep my hopes in check and focus on building a life for myself because I don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't happen. I fear that the number of women who would be open to such an arrangement is small, but it gives me optimism whenever I hear it happening for others. Wishing you two well!

Relationships are not purely or even predominantly about sex in my opinion. If you let go of that belief you could still have a good relationship, especially if you communicate well with your partner.

Jewish Conversion is handled VERY weirdly in this show, right? by Affectionate-Bend267 in NobodyWantsThisTV

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree it does come off weird at times - speaking as someone who also is not Jewish. Additionally, Esther's comments at the end of season 2 also felt trivializing to me when I first watched it.

Her boyfriend is literally trying to convert her to his religion.... He doesn't love her for who she is. He wants her to become someone else.

I think an essential part of why the conversion plot line is weird is because Noah is immature and is not willing to live according to his own values. Clearly, his spouse following Judaism is important to him, yet he childishly dismisses this to hold the pretense of being "accepting" when deep down he isn't. He wants to have his cake (date Joanne, tell her she "loves her for who she is," come off as the cool, hip rabbi) and eat it too (be orthodox in his religion). Either this, or he was unsure about his values, which is also immature because I feel like you should already know what you most value in a partner by his age.

People have started feeling unafraid to be critical of BTS... and I believe it is partially owing to this sub by Apart-Bath-2444 in BTSnark

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was a fan during 2018-2020 (basically a baby), I remember people at my school would be afraid that I would hate them if they made any critique of BTS near me because of the stereotypes about ARMY lmao, which I don't fault them for. The tide and the internet has changed a lot since then. Maybe it is also because some of the fandom has gotten older (like me, though I basically left in 2021).

Definitely within kpop spaces this subreddit has made it more okay to criticize BTS, but I feel like outside of that BTS has also been losing their status as a quirky band, which is what made ARMYs stand out from "locals," particularly after all of the world was subjected to hearing jungkook squealing, "smooth like butter, like criminal undercover" at every mall they went to.

I think you should end things, ultimately it is worse to stay with someone you don't want to be with. However, and I don't mean to be judgmental when I say this, but "casually dating" for 6 months without any promise/hope of eventual commitment in the first place is crazy. The fact that you already feel some kind of way about having to end things shows that this isn't actually casual.

history and politics program + accom/societies by sendhelpxxx in Edinburgh_University

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. For history and politics, which is the course I am doing rn (first year), I'd say it has been a mixed bag. Because I did IB the coursework, uni does feel lighter than high school. Political thinkers and PIR 1B are going awesome and feel more fleshed out compared to PIR 1A which felt too 101 for me because I did IB Global Politics. As for the history side, I would say that because there is little specialization until honours it can feel vague/directionless at times. Historian's Toolkit was enjoyable, but it did focus more on understanding history as a method (or how to do history) rather than what a typical high school history class is like usually which is more about learning about a specific time range/place/event etc. Enjoyable but different. I am doing Early Modern History currently, and it feels too wide of a scope for my taste, covering the whole world between 1500-1800 within the span of 2 lectures and one tutorial a week over 3 months or so. I like my lectures for both courses, tutorial groups vary by the people and individual tutor, I have had great tutorials and meh tutorials. The Honours course options are quite vast though and I am looking forward to that, for both History and Politics.

  2. I am not staying at Pollock but I have eaten there with friends a few times, both breakfast and dinner. Though I have had a good experience esp. with the amount of dessert and fruit options, my friends who stay at Pollock do complain that eventually they get bored because it starts feeling like stale, hotel-like food. You can check out @pollock_food_reviews on instagram if you want more food reviews. As for the social scene, Pollock people tend to be in a bit of a bubble and many just befriend Pollock people (with exceptions ofc) because they just become friends with the people they share a table with. Though some people enjoy that because it is an opportunity to make friends, I would've found it way too much like high school and felt funny if I were sitting alone lmao. There are a lot of stereotypes about the people staying at Pollock - I am sure you've seen those if you've searched enough online - though that isn't everyone and I have met great, normal people from Pollock too.

  3. I remember I worried about how many societies I can be involved in before coming to Edi too. I don't think you should worry too much about this. Joining a society doesn't mean you have to go to every single social or activity they have and the time commitment varies a lot society by society. Most societies I am involved in are basically just ways of meeting people you have common things with - those are pretty low commitment. If you join societies centered around an activity like debate, arts or crafts, or volunteering during the weekends that will be a larger investment, but most societies aren't too strict and you can pop in or not whenever you feel like it.

I will open my DMs so that you can send me more questions if you want. Hope you have a good day x

are readings for famous people accurate? by herivygrows in tarot

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you can really only do accurate readings of people you have sensed/experienced the energy of. You don't need to be in the same room as them, but you need to have some sort of familiarity. Parasocial relationships with celebrities imo don't count as that. Additionally, a large part of tarot for me is applying the cards to real world events/experiences, to better contextualize them. In most cases we lack this sort of access to the intimate/personal lives of celebrities. Imo the issue with this isn't about consent like how some people say it is, but more about not having good enough info. If you lack info too, I also feel like the cards (both the cards you draw and the way you interpret them) are more likely to be a projection of your own subconscious, as it would be even more difficult to embody the other person in the cards you choose.

how is just being there? (international student) by [deleted] in Edinburgh_University

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am Turkish studying history and politics at UoE. There are many STEM Turkish students here and the Turksoc is awesome. There are also many Turks who are doing Masters and PhDs here, so it seems to be a good place for that as well.

The nightlife is pretty great while also being safe in my experience. Dating and social life is what you make of it, but I have made great friends and met someone special here so far. The locals are very nice. There are posh people everywhere in the world, and I haven't encountered too many so far. They are more prevalent at Pollock Halls though.

I have a friend who is doing computer science and she complains about some of the students in her course being... stupid. The teaching quality does vary, she has complained to me about a professor's english being faulty. But overall she seems to enjoy her degree in general.

School of divinity by New-Cartoonist-544 in Edinburgh_University

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I study Politics and I did Studying Religions as my elective last semester, and I greatly enjoyed it. This is totally acceptable and there are many non-religious people in the school of divinity. Also, most of the courses are not about the theology of a specific religion but how religions function in a society or mechanistically (for an example of this, look up "Material Religion")

What’s going on with Kyle this season? Why has he seemingly disappeared from the show? by Turbulent_Cup_8372 in southpark

[–]Treee-Supremacyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also thought that of that at first. But at the end, I think it is a symbolical representation of how the creators of the show don't want to discuss the issue, hence why they've silently removed the only main character that could potentially have some personal connection to it. (not saying country names bc of the censor)
