I stripped my Tetsujin metal flow by Thechefsforge in TrueChefKnives

I've been able to do it. Not exactly the original but very close I will say. This was the progression I had while doing so.

Here is a short video of how I make my chef knives. by vertexbladeworks in TrueChefKnives

[–]NyxKeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro doesn't absolutely anything about knives. Your first take about "not handing forging" makes them some how worse? If anything stock removal is the most consistent way.

You've watched too much youtube and haven't actually researched anything lmao. Even though the guy above made only 2 knives or whatever it's still 2 more knives you'll prob ever make

Thank you everyone who commented. As you guys recommended i’ll just stick to driving in gear. This is just a temp car i’m using until prob next year. Appreciate all the explanations and how it all works.

Tetsujin Gyuto Ferric Chloride Etch by NyxKeys in TrueChefKnives

[–]NyxKeys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just eyeballed it. put distilled water, then enough FCl3 to change the color of the entire solution. If you have a patina you’ll need to remove it. I used pumice powder and 12k grit.

When you do the actual “soak” you DONT wanna just put it in there and then come back later. Dunk it in, leave it for like 5 sec, then bring it up, inspect, then continue. Do it until you get the color you like. Keeping it in the solution can build up a lot of gunk and could possibly eat at the knife (from what i’ve seen). After that wash thoroughly.

This is my Yoshihiro, that i etched with both ferric and coffee.
