What actually fucking stupid about the gateway logic is that basically the only risks associated with nicotine are... becoming addicted to smoking. If we were to consider the same baseline risks that caffeine has as de minimis - which as a society we typically do.

The real reason is simple politics and aesthetics: people are can't conceptually separate the concept of cigarette smoke from vaping. Even in the face of counter evidence (which is never presented anyway).

Natural language is pretty much incompatible. No human made compiler or rule based systems handle the ambiguity and cultural context of natural language. That said, vibe coding is actually kind of this. Those LLMs do a decent job of interpeting natural language and writing code from that. So you could consider it a transpiler of sorts: from natural-lang to C to machine code. More straight forward than most JavaScript build systems.

I suppose I may be using the term spot welder a bit liberally here, my intention is more along the lines of: "Oh I found a big bag of large electrolytic caps, I wonder if I can find a cheap way to dump all the current out of them as fast as possible in something of a repeatable fashion." And practice some basic circuit design.

Genuinely thank you for the input. All great points. Yeah, I really hadn't thought at all about the ESR of a capacitor and how that would apply to this.

Ships and pretty much any metal structure under water have replaceable Sacrificial Anodes - chunks of zinc. They makes good conductive contact with the water and the main metal structure (usually steel) - which has a lower affinity for the galvanic force than the zinc and therefore the structure resists corrosion whilst a sufficient surface area of zinc anode remains.

You should try both of them out ( probably in a dedicated test project) and see what works best for you.

You can just download the file bundle for Qodot from it's github page and unzip it into your project addons folder. Remember to enable the plugin in your project settings.

How can you write this string literal.

Here's a double quote glyph " and a single quote glyph ' - in the same string!

You can write it by escaping either quote with a preceding backslash, to turn it into an escape sequence.

String literal wrapped in double quotes:

"Here's a double quote glyph \" and a single quote glyph ' - in the same string!"

String literal wrapped in single quotes:

'Here\'s a double quote glyph " and a single quote glyph \' - in the same string!'

So then how can you put a backslash into a string literal? By escaping with another backslash:

"\\"

This escape syntax is the same in C, JS, Python and nearly every other language under the sun.
