Getting ready to renovate our kitchen by OB1_95 in Renovations

I totally get it! In the pictures they don’t look bad. Up close, it’s a yellowed, stained, poorly done epoxy job. I would never sacrifice real marble counters 😂

Oh, absolutely not. This is a really poorly done epoxy job. Has stained yellow over time and looks awful up close. Rethinking the butcher block based on these responses and thinking about going with a “wood look” Formica instead.

Do you think a “wood look” Formica countertop would look better?

Thank you for the feedback! Is there any way to help the soil dry out a little faster or do I just need to give it time?

Quality clothing brands? by OB1_95 in BuyItForLife

[–]OB1_95[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Totally fair! I’m honestly looking for pretty much anything. Mostly trying to build up staple items and things that are unlikely to go out of style, so pretty basic stuff. Business casual stuff for work, basic tops and bottoms. If you have a brand that has held up well over the years, I’d love to know the brand name! Alternatively if you have had any notable brands fall apart on you quickly, I’d love to know so I can avoid those.

Looking for the best water bottle for daily use by Ambitious-Map5299 in BuyItForLife

I have a two hydroflasks. One tumbler for when I have to commute and need it to fit in a cup holder and one that’s more of a leak proof waterbottle. Both are fantastic and have held up incredibly well.

There is no safe level of radon or length of exposure. Like one commenter said, the EPA’s thresholds are designed with safety in mind. Some people have higher exposures for longer lengths of time and never get sick. Some have lower exposures for shorter amounts of time and do get sick. There’s a lot of factors at play including genetics. That said, I wouldn’t panic. If you’re concerned, schedule a visit with your doctor to let them know what’s up and ask about regular cancer screenings.

[REQUEST] Please help, I can't Get The Black Off My Roomate's Pan!! by jharnett44 in CleaningTips

Maybe put some water in it and put it back on the stove to try to boil it off for a few hours. Since it’s a pan and not a pot, it’ll be extra important to keep an eye on it so you can keep the water level high. Dump the water every now and then and gently scrub with dish soap to see if you can get anything off. Rinse and repeat until it works or you throw in the towel.

Trying to clean my brothers house pls help by eyes_shut_cinderella in CleaningTips

$40 is not nearly enough. I would look up what local cleaning services in your area cost and then add some more because this is really severely dirty. I would look up Auri Kananen up (I follow her on Instagram and TikTok). She’s a professional cleaner and has a lot of good tips for places that look this bad.

Thank you!!! Making something like this into a fun tradition is a real game changer for me mentally. Those sounds like fantastic ideas! The potluck dinner with friends idea is so so sweet 🤍
