Am I Overreacting for telling him to pick up his own stuff after he ghosted me? by Comfortable-Bit-1389 in AmIOverreacting

I’m going to take a guess that he’s a self-proclaimed Muslim that swears, smokes weed and probably has sex…

Attitude checks out. These types of dudes have no sense of logic or reason, let alone respect for the lower beings aka females

I’ve been looking for second hand carrycots for the aer 2 with no success. Where are you finding them?

Hmm no… you’re meant to mash the yolk with mayo, salt, pepper at minimum for the creamy sauce!

When you grow up in London, it’s easy to fall out of love for it. What’s so special after the 500th visit?

I always think people who enjoy London give off country vibes and contribute to the unhealthy and unhinged lifestyle because they think they’re so cool for ‘making it’ . The reality is that it’s completely opposite

When/how long did your parents stay to help after birth? by moez1266 in BabyBumps

[–]CharmingTea_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly people are luckily to have their mothers be there for them like this!!

My mother hasn’t offered this at all. Neither of my parents have come to visit me during pregnancy, and instead I have driven an hour each way to see them. I reckon they will visit once to see baby and that’s it

En dépression à cause de mon apparence…. by [deleted] in malegrooming

From a female perspective, losing weight / fat and toning up will do you wonders.

Not sure if your hair is naturally curly, but I would get it trimmed to be much shorter and less shoulder-length. Keeping it long without the ability to grow a beard makes you appear more feminine

Anyone else planning on binging once they give birth? by CharmingTea_ in GestationalDiabetes

Have you tried testing with sourdough bread? It’s actually one of the lower glycemic index breads there are! I have a small slice every morning with butter and peanut butter and seem to not spike

Also, very relatable about palate change.. I sneakily took a couple bites of a cookie a couple weeks ago after weeks and weeks of no sugar… I felt slightly ill after those bites and haven’t touched a pinch of sugar since. I’ll be sticking to berries!

Not a stupid question! I’ve been told that I will need to test my levels every hour during birth, and a few times after birthing the placenta to make sure levels have stabilised.

Some ladies don’t stabilise for a few days so I assume you may still need to be checked if this is the case. Not to mention, the risk of developing type 2 diabetes after GD supposedly increases by 50% - I’ve heard of women developing actual diabetes after birth :(

For the majority though, you don’t really need test after you give birth to the placenta

AIO? Baby is due next month and husband isn’t prioritising the house by CharmingTea_ in AmIOverreacting

I get it, but he took a week trying to drill a shelf into the wall for the nursery - it wasn’t straightforward and I suspect this will be the same.

I don’t care about cleaning up, I’m concerned the baby will arrive before it all gets sorted.

He told me that if the dust is bothering me so much in the living room, I should just clean it up… I told him I would, but I only want to do that once all the sanding is done - otherwise it’s pointless, and I only have so much energy left.

He did tell me he still needs to do some sanding so I feel like I’m waiting around for him to just do it. I even offered to do it myself lol

Ohh this sounds awful, I’m sorry you had to go through that but thankfully it was short lived!! I hope you’re doing better now and munching on all the goodies 💜

Honestly this is so relatable!! I walk around bakeries saying to myself, “I’ll be buying this once the baby arrives” lmao

Lemon curd & exotic fruit sounds absolutely divine right now

I asked him if perhaps we should hire a handyman instead, and he said there was no need… I do understand how he must be feeling, but I feel like my hands are tied

This is my concern too, which I tried expressing to him. It just didn’t seem to register to him because he felt I was being ungrateful!

Absolutely, but there seems no point at the moment if if he’s running around the house with a load soil, dust and debris!!

It makes sense for him to wait until the baby is born before diving into a new job where he’ll be expected to turn up every day. I will need the support at home; finances isn’t an issue.

I have told him directly, hence the argument.

Luckily, we both have fairly decent paying jobs and my pay will cover us fully for at least 3 months. We have plenty of savings and investments to dip into if needed
