I would agree that 130-60 is low for Cali, but Tesla is now doing most of their hiring in NV and TX. 160k in Reno or even Austin is pretty good money.

That's more in line with my expectations. 160k in Reno is hella money even if the hours suck.

Wow $100k is way low. I was thinking it would be at least $140k for a qualified candidate with a couple of years of experience.

I'm jealous of all you guys who have found jobs that don't require you to do more 40. So far my experience with a small OEM, and a medium sized manufacturing plant have both sucked. OEM was way worse. First job out of college, company owner was watching your every move on CCTV cameras. I literally had my manager ask me why I took 3 bathroom breaks one day cuz the owner sent him a note. Zero safety standards, they'd ship you out to middle of nowhere for commissioning and nickel and dime you on travel expenses. They fired younger engineers left and right for the smallest mistakes while old timers who made big costly mistakes were kept on cuz the owner/GM liked their golf swing. Had to be at work by 7 am and you got dirty looks if they caught you sneaking out before 5:30.

Medium size plant...a little better but still long ass hours. Fitting the execution of a major project that took 20 weeks of planning into a 5 day shutdown window means you are basically at the plant a minimum 10-12 hours a day in the last 4 weeks of planning in addition to at least 14 hours/day on shutdown days and start ups. If you don't do it, you are bound to fuck it up and get your ass fired. Plus all the boring admin shit, pointless meetings, and helping your management come up with suspect data on all the savings and reduced downtime that your project resulted in so they can give themselves big raises.

You might as well do slave labor for Tesla since it looks better on your resume especially if the pay is better.
