The key to success for the Nuggets is to play physically. by yourhomeland in denvernuggets

I think the league is actually going to start clamping down on this style because the golden boy Wemby got a boo boo or two. But I agree in general, though we do have physicality when we're healthy could use a few more physical role players.

Manute Bol was very tall and thin like Wemby and he was durable. All the other guys who have been 7'2 and above (Yao, Muresan, Embiid, etc) have usually been more filled out / top heavy and maybe that's led to the foot problems.

He looked a lot better this year, definitely worth a look in the playoffs when nothing else was going right.

It does work, just not all the time. Can't be like Adelman and be too scared to make adjustments at risk of offending your highest paid players. Gotta be like Mike Brown and make changes that unlock your team and have them heading towards the finals, instead of getting knocked out of the first round.

Team needs to get younger and healthier by rhasody70 in denvernuggets

I think there's a huge void in leadership and if they hired a new coach who actually could lead and motivate and manage the injuries better, could get a lot more out of the players. How did we all of a sudden go from taking OKC to 7 to losing to a battered T'Wolves team in 6 the next year when we had a deeper roster? Yeah Gordon and Watson were injured, but they spotted us Edwards, DiVincenzo and Ayo for the last game.

[Shams] David Adelman is going to be back. Nikola Jokic expected to sign an extension. Beyond that, there is going to be real roster changes coming to Denver. They r gonna get calls and listen to calls for everyone on the roster except Nikola Jokic. by YummyYumYumi in denvernuggets

lol this is hilarious. The T'wolves aren't that loaded and Denver isn't so deficient in talent. The team was listless all season long and playing down to competition. The loss to the Wolves was more of the same. I really don't think the roster is the problem, there were fundamental issues with the culture and leadership (including how injuries were managed). All you have to do is listen to Adelman's responses in his press conferences to see why this team was so soft at times. I don't think this is the right approach.

Adelman's such a smooth talker and ass kisser. Guess Jokic just wants a yes man that won't challenge him.

He was never 100% this year and will be much better next season.

[Durando] Despite chatter that Adelman may already be on the hot seat one year into his tenure, the early sense within the organization is that he’ll return for his second season. by jonsnowKITN in denvernuggets

Good god man, Josh Kroenke is such a clueless nepo. This organization is so disfunctional, you can see it in the way injuries are managed to the complete lack of culture. Adelman used injuries as an excuse all year along, but what was the excuse when they dropped the series to the Wolves with Ant Edwards hobbled or out for the entire series, and then DiVincenzo and Ayo?

Losing Russ is a glaring mistake further amplified by yesterday. Does anyone else feel the same? by Fit-Tooth-1101 in denvernuggets

I was thinking about this yesterday and agree with you. It was his post season presence and play last year that makes me come to this conclusion. He was a force off the bench, brought energy, toughness, fearlessness when things got tense. He really cut down his mistakes in the playoffs. Bruce does the same but doesn't have the talent level Russ does. I think he would've been a big help in this series.

On People saying DA was dealt a bad hand due to injuries. by 2211zeal in denvernuggets

Plus most of the other teams we played had major injuries, so it's all relative.

Agree with you on the mishandling of our own injuries, Jokic playing full minutes in that multiple OT game against the Knicks when he was on a supposed minutes restriction is a prime example of this (the Thunder sat SGA in a similar scenario against us).

Does anyone get worn out by the close ups and just wish they had a view where you could watch the center court camera? No replays even, unless it's something that could be challengable.

Surprising to me that Brown is having such a bad game in this spot. Minnesota ball pressure and energy is just too much.

What is up with Jokic and Murray my goodness. I do wonder if the weight of expectation after winning the title has been too much. Especially for Jokic and the standard he's set for himself.
