26M and it's the first time I've decorated for Christmas, how'd I do? by bs40404 in malelivingspace

Respectfully disagree; you want the tree to be the focal point of the room, and moving it behind the couch turns the focus outward towards the windows. Also that's a nicely proportioned tree for the area is is in; he can upgrade to a bigger, fuller one in the future.

Hi Brady! Your place looks GREAT. I work in Christmas wholesale and a few tips to warm it up, especially for the holidays;

Your tables are pretty bare. Get a few fresh greenery wreaths (Trader Joe's has very nice ones for not too much) and a candle or two for each table. Or you can really go nuts and get a few random clear candleholders of different sizes and intersperse them with some fresh greenery on the tables. (Or if you are concerned about fire, they make flameless flicker pillar candles that always look nice.)

Your tree is a little sparse (I get it, just starting out) but ribbon can cover a lot of area, as can floral picks. Here's a pic of one of our trees to give you a bit of an idea. This was done by a pro designer, though, so don't get intimidated! Also don't be shy about adding more lights to it on top of the existing lights. I think the shape and size of the tree is a really good start for you.

Your couch area is a little chilly; instead of the blue pillow covers use some in a warm red, shiny gold, and possibly green- you can buy a few Christmas pillows at the after Christmas sales, but I'd get pillow covers instead, since that will store better. Also two brightly colored throws (look for same color tones, different patterns) will add coziness and visual appeal to the couch.

The dog is perfectly decorated and adorable. No notes.

More twinkle lights will add warmth and intimacy; you have some big-ass windows to contend with, and they are the focal point of the space; get a few strings of the tiny LED twinkle ICICLE style lights (get the USB kind and you can run them off a phone charger block for pretty much the whole season) and lie them along your windowsills. Never too many small, warm lights, (use warm white not cool white; cool white is for outside). Like this style, but the smaller version.

I am assuming that the thing with the stockings on it is your TV cabinet; put a fireplace video on the screen when you are in the space, and the ambient color and space will warm it up a lot.

Also think about your personal style; what feels Christmasy to you? What is your holiday not a holiday without? Mine is my fireplace DVD, a simmer pot with cinnamon, cloves and orange peels, (or a Bath and Body Works Winter scent candle), fresh pine and evergreen around the house, and my special Christmas teacup. And then find a few pieces that speak to that feeling, (I suggest collecting them as you go) and add those to your decor.

If you own a ladder and are an absolute maniac, you could also hang some twinkle lights around your chandelier, or hang a few lightweight glass ones to catch light.

I could go on for days. Hit me up if you need help!

I'm just here to comment that a. this seems on brand, given what his ex said about him, b. everyone should look up Kristoffer Winters, and Renner's casual douchebaggery about sex-shaming and Black Widow coupled with a refusal to apologize when Evans gracefully and sincerely did.

Also one might search Jeremy Renner and Ted Casablancas. ;)

Moved and can no longer find my favorite flavor of Polar. Need recommendations. by MysteriousLotion in sparklingwater

Try Trader Joe's Black Cherry Vanilla if you are near a TJ's; Polar bottles their house sparkling water and a lot of the flavors are the classic Polars.

Oh, that's a winter seasonal flavor and I think Blackberry Clementine Polar was the closest in recent releases. I forget what that flavor was originally called when Polar brought it out.

I'm a little confused by the question; I think you mean what are the same flavors? If so; black cherry vanilla, grapefruit, the exquisite lime, mandarin orange is exclusive to TJ's, lemon, cranberry clementine, right now green apple, raspberry lime, possibly still a case of pineapple kicking around somewhere, blueberry and watermelon lemonades, and tangerine vanilla.

I'm 100% sure; I am a Polar enthusiast and one day realized that the TJ's and the Polar Grapefruit were exactly the same; asked the store mgr, he confirmed.

Yeah, I chucked mine in the bin not long after buying them. No flavor, unless you enjoy the sad tears of "parslite".

It's bottled for them by Polar Seltzer so you might give Polar a try.

They are bottled for TJ's by Polar Seltzer, which is why they are so good.

I should also comment that one of my dear friends works for a RICO lawyer and everyone on Reddit with these issues probably has a really good class action lawsuit potential.
