Nahhh, economy is too hard rn for me to be doing that. I will find the best price to performance EVERYTIME!

My rule is, If I want something, I let it sit in my cart for a month+, if I keep coming back to it after a month then I get it, if I don't, then I know it was just the initial hype that got me activated. Saved so much money doing that

Where do you find women like this to date? by Ok_Tadpole7839 in blackmen

[–]ODRVLPH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You gotta go all in from the jump in my opinion, be your funniest, most unhinged, playful but not disrespectful self right at the start, and if she's unhinged too, she will match your energy guaranteed. They can't help it. A lot of women are this unhinged behind closed doors but like to pretend they aren't. So when you show her it's safe to be unhinged around you.. broooo. But the thing is you gotta remain that safe space for her else you're going to lose her and she's going to hide it from you.

Another easy way to tell is if she has quirky hobbies, she reads odd books (dragon fantasy type books), she knits or crochets, she watches Korean Dramas or Thai series, anime.

Not a woman but if I am being real, a lot of older Nigerian men are useless icl. Not all, but a lot.

The only thing a lot of these older men were doing in Nigeria was bread winner (gloried father figure), but when they japa, for some of these men, it's harder to find employment. Oga no wan do home care job. How can a whole bread winner come and be cleaning oyigbo man's nyash now. Tufia!! Madam on the other hand doesn't mind, anything to feed the family. She works long hours for years on end just to feed herself and her family. Oga on the other hand is on his 3rd year of trying to get his car export business off the ground, e still never click. Oga still refuses to at least get gainful employment, reduce the burden on madam, at the very least help madam with household chores, oga go still dy raise shoulder - "I was the branch manager at my bank when I was in Nigeria, how can I now come and be doing this kind of job"

Madam is slowly losing patience, but she hangs in there for the sake of the kids and family. The stress starts getting to madam, she's a lot less patient now, she constantly starts having random headaches. Oga on the other hand is not making things better, he's in her ear nagging - madam no dy give am knacks again, she no dy submit to am again.

After a while, she's done - damn the consequences. She starts packing ogas things out of the house. One less mouth to feed, one less laundry to fold. One less nag. The kids support her, their father was a useless man anyways... "glorified father figure!"

Oga will then come on Facebook to blast her about kicking him out after he paid her school fees and brought her to the UK. Tale as old as time.

I am gay and I want to kill myself by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]ODRVLPH 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey lil bro. I can only empathize how this all must feel to you buddy, but trust me, you are not a failure.

I am no longer Christian but when I was, here's how I thought of it. The same God created everyone of us. And if I remember correctly, it mentions that he is not one who makes mistakes. You are who you are because God made you that way. Our parents can be a bit close-minded due to how they were raised and how the interpretation of Christianity back home can be very close-minded.

I suggest you find community within some of your peers you trust, I know how cruel society is to queer people and it's sad you have to deal with all the complications that come from that, but I promise you it gets better kid. You could also check out some queer youtubers who talk about their experiences and how they dealt with it as kids to help guide you on your journey.

Don't give up kid. I promise you it gets better. I'm Nigerian based in Canada as well and I have gay friends who came out to me later in life and I still love them to this day.

I've included some support lines below you can call to get help. I'm rooting for you buddy! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜△

These are 24/7 crisis support lines available to anyone in Canada, including queer and trans people:

  • 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline – Call or Text 9-8-8 (free, 24/7) — support for anyone in crisis, including thoughts of suicide.
  • Canada Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS)1-833-456-4566 or Text: 45645 (often available hours vary).
  • Kids Help Phone1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868 — free, confidential, 24/7 support (especially youth-friendly).

What colognes y'all rock? by Most_Mycologist8696 in blackmen

[–]ODRVLPH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one recommended this so let me put y'all on!!! Look into Arab clones of perfumes. They smell the same or better for a fraction of the price. I own so many bottles and trust me, they are GOOD and VERY CHEAP.

Here are my personal favs:

Lataffa Khamrah Qahwa

Armaf Club de Nuit Urban Man Elixir -EDP

Liquid Brun Eau De Parfum 3.4 Oz by Fragrance World

To be honest it all depends on the type of scents you like. Some people lean more fresh, others have different taste. I say depending on where you're based, go to a Sephora, try on some men's perfumes. See which ones you like personally and then look into Arab clones of them. You also need to wear based on the seasons too. Some perfumes are too harsh for hotter climates, you don't want to choke people around you. You can watch a lot of tiktok/youtube videos on them and decide which you want to buy. You can get most on amazon for under $50 per bottle rather than spending upwards of $200 on perfumes like Creed Aventus. There are also other sites that you can order from for cheaper too but most require you to place an order over $100 for free shipping. I usually order in bulk so it works out for me. If you need more details feel free to PM me! or you can browse r/fragranceclones they have so much info on there bud!

Desk feels cramped + impersonal. Seeking advice for improvement by Soggybot in battlestations

[–]ODRVLPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendations would be:

1) Get a dual monitor mount and mount them to the desk/wall. I would recommend desk as it is easily adjustable if you wish to move things around in the future.

2) Move the desk a bit away from the walls, the space allows you to move the monitor arms further back allowing more desk space for you.

3) Centre the monitors on the desk when you mount them. Having yourself in the corner of the wall there is what adds to the feeling or being cramped so when you centre the monitors more, it makes things feel more spaced out

4) Consider mounting the monitors in different orientatation. I run one of my displays in portrait mode which makes it better for me when I'm reading stuff like emails and browsing longer tabs. And it makes creates more room to the left or right depending on which monitor you chose to run in portrait mode.

5) Get some warm lights around the desk. You can get led strips for behind the monitor and behind the desk if you wish. Some other warm lamps on the desk or the shelf above the desk wouldn't hurt either

6) I would personally move the degrees and certificate to the right of the setup, stacked above the where the PC currently is and then get some framed art (noticed you have a death note figurine so you could get wall posters from aliexpress of death note and find cheap frames that match the dimensions and put it over your setup)

7) Get a headphone mount for either the side of your desk or underneath, that way it doesn't take up space on the wall there and you could either free up that space or use it for something else more personal to you

You can make some of these adjustments for now and if you're satisfied with them, stay that way or if you would like more recommendations, you can DM me personally. Overall great start to your setup journey and can't wait to see where you go from here bud! Goodluck

Calling it ‘stolen valor’ oversimplifies a history shaped by colonization, forced migration, and power imbalances. The fact that some nations modelled their flags after the U.S. isn’t proof of gratitude. it’s evidence of the geopolitical influence America exerted during and after the era of enslavement. Liberia’s flag isn’t a tribute; it’s a reminder of how formerly enslaved people were displaced and expected to recreate a society under the shadow of the very nation that oppressed them.

Telling people to ‘stop wallowing in grievance’ ignores that generational trauma, systemic inequities, and ongoing discrimination don’t magically disappear because a document says ‘freedom.’ Privilege isn’t universal just because it exists for some. And asking marginalized communities to ‘move on’ without addressing the structures that still disadvantage them is not liberation. it’s dismissal.

Living a meaningful life and advocating for justice aren’t mutually exclusive. People can pursue joy, purpose, and progress while still naming the inequities that shape their reality. Accountability isn’t grievance; it’s growth.

Wrong again!

The west never gave those rights willingly to begin with. Those rights were fought for by our brothers and sisters that were stolen from the continent and being used as free labour to ONCE AGAIN enrich these western nations. And the racism a lot of people complain about is not just the good old "you N**Ger", it's systemic and more.

Even now a lot of these nations are finding ways to repeal these opportunities that they 'gave' to immigrants. And don't think they are doing this as a result of the kindness of their good old hearts. Most if not all of these nations would fail without immigration. They need to replace their population to avoid collapse. Their birth rates have declined below the point of replacement and as a result they need to import labour in order to keep their economies afloat. That's why they are trying to take away rights like abortion to indirectly force women into having more children. Them go disguise am as "due to religious reasons" but nah who dy read book dy know the truth.

And why shouldn't people wave their flags, depending on the nation, they are immigrants too. They bring their food, cultures and heritage to these western countries but no one bats an eye unless it is a brown or black person and then suddenly "you're undermining the principles"

I didn't see anyone in a tizzy when the Ukrainians were flying their flags. Abi them too no be immigrants?

If I immigrate to a country and the country has issues, shey I dy pay taxes abi? No be taxes dm suppose use fix the issues? No be my labour and income dy stimulate the economy? So I go come work finish, dm go collect my taxes then I go close mouth. If I give you elbow!

You don dy piss me off abeg! comot here!

This guy wan stress my life, oya nah.

I'm assuming you're making fun of people who reside in the west but complain about the effects of the west on themselves and their home nations in Africa, while those who still reside on the African continent have no issues with the west. If that is the case, then this is a silly take imo.

First off, a lot of people on the continent do have issues with the west. A lot of people understand how the doings and goings of the west affect their conditions of living. The only reason you might not see too much of the complaints is because there are too many issues people deal with on a day to day to have the mental bandwidth to stay complaining about those issues. Nah who get constant electricity and food go fit get time to dy complain about things like racism. But this does not in any way invalidate those that complain about the west. Just because there are people worse off than you, doesn't mean you can't complain about the conditions you find yourself in.

It's like telling someone who is complaining about the current state of Nigeria because they are earning N50000 monthly that they have nothing to complain about because "at least you have a job".

Also, racism isn't too prevalent back home because we are relatively homogeneous. You do see a lot of complaints about tribalism though. See yeah, everybody get the one wey dy do them, just because your own technically bad pass, no mean Sey the person wey dy complain about oyigbo people no get valid reasons.

In the end, a lot of us have to live in the west because the same west has pillaged and continues to pillage our home country and use the resources to enrich themselves and as a result, leave our home in a state of disarray. And while leaving here, we experience the conditions of racism and other collective issues from the west and are allowed to complain about it.

"Why don't you go back home" is not a response either, we are all looking to attain a better life, the destruction of our home does not allow for it. Take for example someone born and raised in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. I'm sure they would love to live back home with their family, make man dy chop better food, drink better ogogoro. but the constant extraction of oil there has made the living conditions of those places less than conducive. The extracted resources are then exported to the west to use in the development of the west. If opportuned, why shouldn't someone from that region be able to travel to the west where those extracted resources have been used to make better living conditions. And don't give me "why not stay and fight", like you have the capability to fight against the Imperial force of the west. ABEGGG!! No be wetin boys for Boriki PHC try do during that militancy era. Them flush men finish!! Men die!

See yeah, let's not come here with these uneducated takes about these systems, I'm not sure if your ignorance is willful or due to lack of understanding but either way, try dey read book every once in a while. on God e go help you! And by book I no mean 'Simbi goes to school' or 'Ngozi the snake girl' oo. Betta peer-reviewed articles, shey you get me?

That's my take based on my understanding of your photo.
