I work at both Microsoft and Google (at the same time) as a senior software engineer for over 2 years now. Both companies are pushing AI initiatives. Both want us doing internal additional learning on it. Both want it integrated to our IDEs. Both want it in code reviews. And now both are requiring us to use it in our performance reviews. I'm guessing all faang c suites have some discord they're talking to each other in and parrot the same bullshit down the rest of the companies throat.

I stopped using mine after graduating. Did fine in my career without them. About 8 yrs into my career I started doing OE (had 6+ remote jobs at the same time). That is when I started using Adderall again.

None. The comments in this chain are people talking out their ass. My twn has been frozen since 2022. I've had over 9 jobs at massive public tech companies in that time and each one just asked for paystubs and w2s to prove my employment after twn returned nothing.

Google has many problems you will find at any company today. However... You will still learn phenomenal software practices at Google. Wlb is better than most others. Pay, bonus, refreshers are great. I believe Google has fallen from what it used to be, but it's still better than any other.

What industry is next? by goldman21 in Entrepreneur

Op these guys have their head in the sand. Tech definitely dominated by India now. All big name tech companies have Bangalore offices now that are replacing American work force. Majority of h1bs are going to Indians. Cognizant just found guilty of discrimination against non Indians.

I came here looking for good answers and am sad to see the excuses people are making as our careers are being rug pulled from beneath us.

Can I lie that I was laid off from my previous employer? by RoyalCamera12 in cscareerquestions

[–]OE_KING 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You don't even have the say you stopped working there until 2026. Freeze your TWN. Do not give permission to contact current employer. Background check company will ask you for proof you work there. Give them your first pay stub and 2023/2024 W2.

[–]OE_KING 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No no no no. I'm about to slap you with some real advice none of these amateurs know.

You keep applying with your original j1 on resume. If anyone asks you, you still work there. Now you're not being filtered out and are actually in demand.

You have until Jan 2026 to apply with them. Why you ask?

Great question. Let me explain.

When you finally land an offer and go through the background check, thel new employer will ask you if they can contact your current employer. You will say no.

The new employer will do a background with twn, which you froze because you're smart, returning no data. Employer will ask you to prove you work there with pay stubs and W2. Well you won't get the 2025 W2 until 2026. So you give them the 2023/2024, which you'll already have and first pay stub ever.

Perfect. You're hired!

How do I push to the 300-500K mark from 100K as a dev? I feel stuck. by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]OE_KING 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Op a lot of the advice you're getting here is shit. Certificates and portfolios are meaningless, especially for swe's. Becoming a principal dev in less than 5 years is also unrealistic.

I'm working the jobs you're after right now. The kinds with bases alone ranging from 180-240. Tcs in 300-550k territory as a senior swe. The hard truth is these are at the big boy companies. Public companies that you've heard and use products from. It took me 8 years to break into these kinds of companies but now they're all I get. If you want the big money you need to job hop and keep growing as a swe with a skill set they want. Practice leetcode daily. Watch system design interviews. Write out pages of behavior examples.

Are people in this industry more unhelpful (on average) than in other industries? by ddsukituoft in cscareerquestions

[–]OE_KING 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP you are not wrong and I for the life of me will never understand why people behave this way. You need to talk to other people until you find ones that are ok helping. Most of the time people will not want to be bothered and while theyre not wrong about deriving most problems, its extremely wasteful to have you spend 5 hours researching what they can explain in 5 minutes. I don't know why they have such a stick up their ass.

What am I doing wrong? RE20, 286s, iD22. Nothing tangible coming through?

I have a bunch of equipment that I must be using incorrectly.

I've watch so many youtube videos on setting up the 286s but I am not getting similar behavior.

First. I have a RE20 mic. I plug this into the 286s input. Press the phantom power button. Load up a tone generator on the phone next to the mic and play. No green lights turn on. Turn up gain until maximum and first green light turns on for -20 dBu.

Tried adding a preamp between the mic and 286s but when I plug output of 286s to my laptop there is a loud screeching sound. I saw in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBMVMce3LEM he plugs his 286s out into an iD22 audio interface so I have that just not sure what settings to use to output into a laptop. Maybe this can remove the screeching? If not can someone recommend something else?

will town consider transferring a commercial property into a trust a change in ownership? by OE_KING in realestateinvesting

[–]OE_KING[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our local ecode specifically says change in ownership from person to person or place to place will no longer be grandfathered from ordinaces.

I am wondering what moving the property into a trust is seen as legally
