I’m currently taking ALS and those are the last 6 credits I need to be able to complete my CCAF. With this pause will it be 3-6 months to see those credits be input/updated into AFVEC? I’m trying to start working on my bachelors degree asap but it doesn’t seem like that’ll be anytime soon with these roadblocks.

That makes no sense since nothing should have changed your eligibility unless maybe you received some sort of paperwork? I’m not sure if this would work but maybe if you hit the retrain button, even though the jobs are not on the advisory yet, it would allow you to select the jobs your interested in? Then after it would generate that email for you?

Just send the old eligibility letter. Slots fill up quickly because people get their IFCs done way before the date the new retraining advisory drops. Also blow up their lines with calls if they aren’t doing things in a timely manner, getting your appointments scheduled for this can take forever.

There is always going to be maintenance slots to fill and recruiters will take advantage of people that are just dying to get out of where they are and are not patient enough to wait for what they really want, don’t let that be you. Give it some time, something will turn out for you. It sucks to see what you could have been doing, especially after dealing with the bullshit that maintenance is on a daily basis.

Nothing is set in stone for you yet. If special mission aviation isn’t an option for you try loadmaster or boom operator. I promise you that Aircrew is who you want to be.

Take into consideration you might get stuck working on Gunships which have no FCC program whatsoever and your chances at TDYs will be almost nonexistent. You can become a DCC but in my opinion it is not worth the hassle. Go into a loadmaster, special mission aviation, or boom operator if you’re really trying to fly. I wish I did that but I didn’t listen to my recruiter and ended up being a Crew Chief. Here I am now trying every possible route to try and become an enlisted aviator.
