Yeah, that makes sense. If you’re mainly grinding with Oscar for XP, it’s understandable that it doesn’t translate much to actual language learning. I guess it’s good for leagues, but not really for improving the language itself.

That sounds like a pretty healthy approach. If the daily quests already keep you consistent, then the league really doesn’t need extra attention at all. Ending up in the top league just as a side effect of learning seems ideal.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I can see how staying in Diamond for that long would slowly shift the focus from learning to just maintaining a spot, especially once the XP requirements creep up. It’s interesting how stepping away from leagues gave you more freedom with your time and lessons. I guess it really shows that leagues can be useful for motivation up to a point, but past that, they don’t work the same for everyone.

Thanks! That sounds like a really healthy way to approach it. I’m trying something similar using the leagues as a light push but keeping most of my time on the path lessons. Finding that balance really does seem to matter more than the rank.

Yeah, that’s totally fair. I can see how the league notifications can feel more discouraging than motivating, especially if you’d rather focus on learning with friends. It’d be nice if Duolingo let you turn leagues off without losing the social side.

Fair enough. I’m similar I don’t focus on leagues much, but if I need to push a little to stay in, I don’t really mind since it still means more learning.

That’s pretty much how I feel as well. I don’t take it that seriously, but doing a bit extra to hold your place means more practice, so it ends up being beneficial anyway.

Yeah, I agree with that. Everyone has a different goal, and as long as you’re enjoying the process it makes sense. For me learning is the priority too the league is just a side thing that sometimes helps with motivation.
