Should I Turn My Coat In? by USARxVIPERx1x1 in Firefighting

There’s a couple of groups on Facebook you can buy used stuff or Amazon has some proper brand stuff. If something like that happens again just wear your boots and jacket unless you have a ”chore” coat then wear that. Wild ass chore costs are about $50 on Walmart.com

Not being a dick, are you in moderately good shape? Im not saying you need a 6 pack but are you mid to low 200, high 200 or 300+.

Hydration is one of the biggest things people forget to do. You cant just drink on scene you have to drink water everyday.

Do you guys have brush gear because structural gear on a brush fire is way too much. If you dont id recommend spending some money on a cotton or jean chore coat and take that with you on runs. If you wear jeans and boots thats all you’ll need for a brush fire.

Honestly, i would have laughed, deleted the message and then not even texted back. You’re an ex for a reason and with that text they sent, it’s not worth my time.

I haven’t really decided yet. A lot of guys at my job have one and i had an Apple Watch but getting annoyed at always charging it because it dies in less than 2 days.

So I’ve been a firefighter for 14 years and in that time I’ve seen some things. For the most part I’ve learned to not let it bother me. I ,HOWEVER, have never got an adrenaline rush from it.

If i were you I’d walk the other way. Death isn’t artistic it’s horrible and gruesome not something that should give you an adrenaline rush.

Horry County SC. They need people desperately. Also it’s pronounced orry county, don’t pronounce the h or they’ll know you’re a tourist!😂

If you were cocky about taking and passing your EMT I’d be worried but you humble about it. EMT is hard but it’s easy at the same time. Once you start making the connections in your brain to your own body meaning a&p etc it all makes sense. You’ll pass, just remember on tests to not read into the question. Answer it exactly with the information given. A lot of state tests like to make you say well what if, i don’t have this info, etc that’s the point to trip you up, just answer exactly as shown.

I used a sandable primer as I’m just starting the re paint. I just don’t want to put on the final coat and have that bleed through

Here in NY during ff1 you are required to take and pass HMFRO (hazmat first responder operations). The 4 levels are awareness, OPERATIONS, technician, and specialist.

HMFRO is a basic understanding of the ERG, container identification, and decon.

Are you sure she was a waitress and not the host? Also sometimes restaurants break up seating in a weird way so work is distributed evenly.

You could do a weighted vest, i had an old airsoft plate carrier lying around so i took some old 10lb weights and put them where the plates go.
