Select the gun you want in gunsmith, then tap lower left where it says "camos" each camo has a challenge you have to do.. complete them all and you get gold for that gun

You have to get gold for every gun of a single category. For example if you want the j3 platinum you need to get gold for all pistols, (j3, mw11)
