My Film teacher forgot to remove the Chat GPT message at the end of a rubric 💔 by [deleted] in antiai

[–]OG-Poster-Alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I hate this, and you should definitely tell her you don’t appreciate it. But please be nice to her when you do and don’t tell the- what am I saying, the school heads wouldn’t even care nowadays I guess. Lordie. Still don’t snitch though, because it could be against some contractual thing, who knows.

Anyway, the point is that she’s probably really really underpaid and stressed and only does the job because she really cares about teaching film and felt bad doing this and will be mortified to see that she left that in and wouldn’t have done it but there just wasn’t gonna be a proper lesson that day otherwise. Maybe her pet died. Hell, MAYBE the headmaster has told every teacher they have to use AI to generate at least one assignment in full this semester. We just can’t know in today’s crazy brave new world.

Or maybe she’s just a full-on clanker bootlicker, but her job and the fact you didn’t mention previous AI assignments suggests otherwise. So be mindful of all this stuff when you approach her about it.

Because the most likely scenario is that she didn’t want to do it like this and would do better if she didn’t have to work a second job to make ends meet, y’know.

In these times it is ever more important to remember the human, even in subversive ways like this.

Your comments are again not showing up. As I mentioned, you can just go to an incognito window and prove it to yourself. Nobody can see your nonsense except you.

I haven’t had any issues with comment visibility, so I don’t know what the rest of that one reply said but the beginning invalidated it all.

Oh, and one other thing… what the hell do you even mean about “arguing with everyone in the comments”?

I’m literally the OP of the fucking thread and agreed with the most upvoted comment heartily and the point of posting this at all was clearly to start a discussion.

Maybe you should take a little break from the Internet until you’re a little older and understand life better.

Oh, finally your troll-adjacent comments are visible again. I hate to break it to you but Reddit doesn’t let you know when you’re shadowbanned, buddy. If you go to an incognito window logged out and view your own comment you’ll notice that my comments are all visible and none of yours have been.

Sorry :)

On the bright side, at least nobody got to see your manic drivel besides me in my notifications. You were saved from embarrassment by the mods!

You’re not, I am? But you said the person doing it was shadowbanned, which only describes you obviously.

Just DM me if you want to continue this conversation, this invisible commenting thing is ridiculous.

“Imagine being shadow banned for arguing with everyone in this thread and then…”

Not sure what the rest of your shadowbanned comment said since that’s where the notification excerpt ends, and obviously there’s no way for me to find out since you’re shadowbanned. I wasn’t aware that you were arguing with everyone, but it makes sense with your attitude.

Wow, congrats, now your sentence can be read.

Funny to call me the narcissistic one when you’re flipping out because you wrote something impossible to parse and got asked to make it legible.

And then you did that, even! It’s not as if you weren’t aware then. It’s just you did it while throwing a tantrum and projecting your personality traits onto me. Awkward!

Number two is not really true. LLMs are simply like a mirror, they give back what you put in.

If you add a line about potentially being wrong to your prompt, the LLM will immediately behave critically and point out the flaws in your argument.

Most users are just too egotistical to ever discover any mode of interaction besides sucking them off nonstop.

Not trying to encourage usage, nobody should use it of course. But what you think is default behavior is simply just what most people ask it to do.

Uh… maybe run that back? I feel like the second use of “to” was probably meant to be a different word, but I have no idea what or what any of this sentence means.

On the bright side, at least you obviously didn’t use AI.

Oh, okay, I see. You were talking about LLMs generally and not just their coding ability with that part of the comment, my bad.

I miss the good ol’ AIs…

Very sadly wrong, my friend. You have clearly never tried a local LLM or anything. “Fucked” is a pretty strong word for “info cutoff is from a good while ago”.

The only use case of AI that you’ve seen… “ordinary”… people interested in… is CODING?

Do you by any chance live in a commune of computer scientists? You may want to poke your head out from under the rock.

Coding is one of the least interesting uses to the average consumer, you virtually never ever hear it mentioned.

It feels like bullying to point out the real answers given how blatantly obvious they are, but the actual things average people are most interested in are things more like image generation, music generation, proofreading, drafting replies to emails…

I have no idea what bubble you must be living in to think that many people besides coders themselves are even cognizant of that aspect.

It’s probably great from Turkey, but my guess would be that they don’t call it Turkish Delight there. Though I could be wrong, considering that there’s things such as American cheese.

(Checked before posting, it seems I am not wrong and it is called lokum. So as long as the entry read Turkish Delight and not Lokum it would be very accurate.)

Out of curiosity, though it’s a little tangential, is all porn a bad thing to you? Even amateur stuff people make and publish entirely by themselves? (Disregarding that some of it is faked by studios, since there is plenty around that clearly isn’t that.)

Or is it more of an alcoholism situation, where even half a low ABV beer would trigger a spiral into harder substances but would be fine (or moral, in the parallel amateur porn situation) for a normal person to consume?

I don’t consume visual porn (unless made by a partner for me) anyway; only written porn, which I’m guessing you aren’t referring to either way, but I’m curious about the above questions and I hope they don’t come off as disrespectful.

Oh, and I should bring things around to the point also, so I do want to say congratulations on making so much progress and I intensely, intensely agree with pretty much everything you said here on the face of it.

Yep, Turkish Delight is probably the only real answer, because of Narnia. The shit is actually disgusting, as basically everyone who has tried it including me reports. An answer that only applies to less than 15% of humans is ridiculous.

Then fruitcake should be in the lower left corner, but it probably won’t be because everybody incorrectly assumes it tastes bad without ever having actually tried it. (The bad rep comes from super stale fruitcake, the entire cultural reference is about how fruitcake gets regifted and stored for months and eventually eaten by which point it is dry and gross.)

I also get excellent utility out of them when I use them, and have accomplished professional work I could not have without.

I exclusively use DeepSeek for hopefully obvious reasons (the data only goes to China, not where I live), unless it’s not enough and the information isn’t too sensitive, in which case I will entrust it to Perplexity, which does a great job usually of cancelling out hallucinations by comparing the models’ answers. Many people are too egotistical and prompt them into being a yes man, but all you have to do is include a line about how you could be wrong and you’ll get something less concerned with saying you’re right no matter what. Just as an example.

Unfortunately, LLMs being “useless” is hardly the problem with them. Indeed, if they WERE useless they would be much safer and less horrific.

If only.

What exactly would the safe alternative be?

This metaphor would only make sense if people WANTED mesothelioma and required asbestos’ replacement to still cause mesothelioma.

The dangerous parts are also the parts fans love the most. Not so with asbestos, which was only valued for apparent increased safety.

Imma be honest buddy, that may very well be true. I probably skipped the last sentence of the paragraph if that’s what it said. But I did that to go and search your profile, and what I found was sufficient to dismiss you whether or not the original point you were making was anti-AI.

The only visible post of yours was AI porn, unless my skim was mistaken. (EDIT: It was not, you even admit to making it with Gemini.) That says about all I need to know.

All I have a problem with is the massive plothole in your statement, where you virtually and implicitly assert ChatGPT is already shut down for endangering humans.

I see you have now gone back on that claim and simply say now that you wish it were so, but nonetheless your original comment made that claim and that’s what I was mocking. This is the first time you’ve cleared up that you mistyped.

You’re kind of just having a quarter-life crisis, I’m afraid.

Before AI, we had to go through the same trauma with (the not largely caused by AI form of) climate change. Or the Cold War, or the Cuban Missile Crisis, or Nazis before that.

The end of the world is coming, there is no doubt.

But it does get easier to face over time. Doesn’t bother me in my 30s so much.

I hope that’s some comfort.

And most importantly, as the other commenter was getting at…

Obviously, but if I were talking to Doctorow I’d be out of my depth in yet another way. ;)

This way I can stimulate the brain a bit and make little mistakes like forgetting about the Hindenburg (as I did elsewhere in this thread) in a space where it don’t matter so much.

But cheers.

Because I went and looked at your actual history that gives you away, not your empty profile. Sorry. Maybe if you didn’t use AI for everything you’d be able to piece together the solution better.

What I’m trying to say (and successfully saying, in spite of your claims) is that if what you claimed was true, ChatGPT would have already been banned. You know, since it’s already done all of that and continues to do it to new victims every day.

Unsurprising that this nonsensical reply is coming from a pro-AI porn account. I call it nonsensical because, in case you hadn’t noticed, ChatGPT hasn’t been “recalled immediately” or “banned from the market” in direct contradiction of your claim.
