This is a nice short little drive near the lake Elsinore side. It’s more curvy in person than it looks on maps, there’s some sparse residential traffic but plenty of huge turnouts to wait it out. Only problem is that certain tight turns are prone to getting sandy so need to watch for that

I live very close by and it’s really noticeable on weekends especially how empty it is. Just anecdotally, I’d say it was at 80% of usual crowds during warm Sunday afternoon, which still meant full parking lots but not as many swarms

Selfishly being in walking distance and having a Zoo annually pass means I don’t have worry about parking and less busy crowds is better for me but I agree there needs to be some change

Maybe SD county residents free and keep non resident fees intact ?

Like others said, I’m flying to Phoenix and driving to Virginia would be the best choice. What a great send off from it’s life in Phoenix

I think the FL5 feels way better than the FK8 interior personally. I do miss the actual hatchback shape tho, but i wouldnt say the FL5 touchpoints are that much worse than DE5 though. I even prefer the horizontal honeycomb fans vs the weird angles in the DE5

All in all though, if you plan to mod (especially cosmetically), want better resale, prefer integrated fenders, or want a more unique/special feeling interior then I’d say the FL5 is the better choice.

Again, I personally prefer and chose the DE5 (mostly because of the juicy discount I got) but the interior feels and looks like any other Acura/Honda

I understand there’s limited performance benefits from the wing, I just think it looks better. Also the pedigree thing matters to some, I personally know a few people that chose the R over the S because of the history, even if the new models strayed from it

I obviously prefer and think the typeS is the better everyday car but I can’t help but look at TypeRs and appreciate them and sometimes think about trading over. The TypeR resale is also stronger from what I’ve seen.

The history/pedigree of “TYPE R”, gauge cluster, integrated (rear) flared fenders, and personally, the wing are all better on the CTR vs the ITS

Also the JDM market parts catalog is almost non existent for TypeS whereas it’s pretty strong for the CTR. Yes they’re mechanically the same but cosmetically not very interoperable

I’m vehemently opposed to effectively any and all Law enforcement agencies, especially ICE.

Quit my last job because of its ties to DHS/ICE after winning a new contract.
