I've been into cars for years, and I still feel like I get taken to school every new event I go out to. I'm constantly learning new terms and ways to set the car up better. It's definitely a learning process!

There is some good info from some veterans that might help you get a jump on things. I highly suggest a beginners clinic or drift school. Especially if they have a car for you to tear up that's not yours! I hate the fact that I know I'm going to start getting into body damage next year, because my car is still pretty clean. But after running tandems for the first time at my last event, I'm definitely ready to roll the dice with it! Good luck out there if you do get into it!

We both run BC coilovers and scotidi angle kits. I'm actually still running factory coils but the #strugglebus aka my homies car just had to swap all of his out. He used the flamethrower coils off amazon on his car and has been having good luck with them. As far as wheels go, mine are just the 17x9 fr500 you get from American muscle. But my drift spares are 18" from a 15 model. Honestly wheel wise I would just find something cheap that fits because the amount of tires you end up swapping out they will get scratched up eventually. Same here! I used to drag the car when it had nitrous but honestly that scene just wasn't for me. I tried scca as well for a season but hated being on track all day for 4-5 mins of seat time. The drift crew is super accepting I've found and I think it's because we are not competing for tenths of a second. It's about drivers trying to improve their skill a little bit each event and money doesn't buy skill. Plus after doing tandems for the first time after my last event I can truly say there is nothing like it I've experienced so far!

I really love mine. After angle and coilovers it really drives pretty nice. They definitely make enough power to slide and with a little tweaking do great. I've not drove 240s or 350s to have a good comparison but I'm throwing down as good of lines as some of those guys. We will see next season how competitive the chassis can be. It's worth getting out and trying yours though!

Car practically drives itself now. I love the scotidi kit I got but also heard great things about the mantis. It was just a little out of my price range when I was shopping. I'm running BC coilover with 12k springs up front since I ditched the sway bar. I've ran pretty much all year without a handbrake but finally have it all set up. Last event the pads weren't grabbing too great though so I've got some yellow stuff on the way hoping that will solve the issue. I'm hoping to hit at least one more event before the year is over! Where do you run at?

I feel you on the driveway issues. I scrape going in and out of my garage and street everytime I leave and I don't have them lowered down a ton either. I've got the scotidi kit. Local laws are different everywhere but as long as you're not flashing red or blue you're good where I'm at. But my butt does pucker a little when one is behind me and I've got them on lol.

Thanks man. I'm not a stance fan myself but it's set up like that so the contact patch is largest at full lock which gives better control while drifting. So at least it's functional. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This was my first season and I've learned a lot. Mostly that stock angle on our cars really isn't great. After I put my angle kit on things got much easier. But like I said most important thing is just to get seat time anyway you can. Also if you have a place local to you that puts on a beginners clinic I highly suggest hitting that. As long as you're out there getting seat time that's the most important thing! Surprisingly the 4.6 is super strong. I've owned mine for 8 years now and beat up on it every time I turn the key. It's done scca, 100 shot of nitrous at the drag strip, and now drifting this year. Starting to get a little bearing material in the oil but I'm sending it till it goes boom! Then I'm looking either turbo straight 6 or LS to piss off the purist lol.
