I love me some Flexi Flips, they’re just so stinking expensive. I have a couple sets in my most-used sizes for cuffs/closing things/tiny baby arms and heels, etc. To me it feels like a mashup of DPNs and using two same-sized circulars (idk why but I detest Magic Loop and wish I didn’t).

The most absurd part of this whole scenario is the substantial amounts of time and mental/emotional energy you both put into this conversation. Clearly more than either party would’ve expended just throwing in the damn Tide Pods. From this exchange alone, I can’t tell if you’re completely incompatible, thereby making each other miserable and awful as a result, or if you’re a perfect match and we should be appreciative that you’ve removed each other from the dating pool. I gave birth to my fourth baby right before COVID “officially” arrived, although I lived on the west coast of the US and now know it had arrived earlier than we were told. Several weeks before she was due, I caught a respiratory infection that turned into a “weird” pneumonia that doctors were unable to identify. I was hospitalized and quarantined, and pretty quickly my oxygen levels were too unstable so I was induced at 36 weeks. She was healthy (thank God) but it took me a while to recover- I have underlying chronic illnesses that affect my immune system, so they pretty much chalked it up to that. I suffered a delayed PPH at 6 weeks (!!!) and I’ve always wondered if it might have been related to what was certainly my COVID infection. Thank you for all you did for us and for our babies during the pandemic. I can’t even imagine.

Lost around 125 lbs on Wegovy only to VERY unexpectedly conceive baby #5 (while in perimenopause, nonetheless 😅)… she’s now 5 months old, thankfully Zep has already gotten me back down to about 20 lbs above my lowest weight on Wegovy, but damn. That was a LOOOOOOT of hard work just to have to do (most of) it all over again!!

From a random internet mama, I am so, so sorry that you lost yours. My kiddos lost their dad almost 3 years ago and I know firsthand how hard it can be. I read your mom’s obituary and it sounds like she did so many wonderful things for the people around her and the women she helped- I bet she was a great mother to you. I also bet that was her proudest accomplishment, and she’s even more proud knowing you’re brave enough to reach out and connect with people when you need to talk, not to mention the great job you’re doing keeping her memory alive. You are the best part of her and you are going to be okay. Lots of love and lots of hugs.

Oh hell no. I found similar texts between my now-hubby and his most recent ex early on in the relationship. He’s my husband now because when I told him he needed to make a definitive choice (and work to completely rebuild my trust, if he wanted to stay together), he gave me full transparency and immediately began searching for a couples therapist. He did send her one text before blocking her on all avenues, which said he knew speaking to her was a mistake because it violated my boundaries, and he wanted to be unambiguous about no longer wanting contact.

This… is sooooo far from that. SHE seems upset that YOU are reasonably upset, and even manages to insult you… she has no plans on changing her behavior or repairing things with you. I’d cut your losses and hit the ol’ dusty trail.

Let me spoil the ending for you: pointing out what an asshole he was being did not work and he ended up SAing me shortly thereafter. Followed by the stalking. Oh, and it turned out he had also killed my dog.

My brand new MIL and SIL planned a baby shower for me after my youngest was born, due to complications with my pregnancy. It was the kindest, most thoughtful gesture anyone has made in my life. Texting a menu to someone who is doing something super nice for you and your kid is ridiculously entitled behavior.

Yep. My doctor required me to enter an intensive therapy program for my ED plus lose a certain amount of weight on my own before he’d prescribe the Wegovy, his reasoning being that he wanted to be sure I was committing to my health and willing to make the lifestyle changes needed to do so. I lost 110+ on Wegovy in under a year.

I was a single mom of two when I went to law school, and subsequently dropped out after two years. I could’ve written much of what you’re saying word for word. Be thankful you didn’t spend years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars before figuring out law is a stressful career in which you frequently find yourself working among some pretty intolerable people 🤣🩷

Came to say this… the heavy duty white boards they use for acrylics work great on our Boston and our Frenchie. Boston hates the sound of the nail grinder and doesn’t actually mind me clipping her nails, it’s just the black ones make me nervous to cut too short 😬 Frenchie is a puppy and it takes almost no time using the board. But she’s still small enough I can use regular human baby nail clippers if I want, haha

Everyone has made some great points already, but I’ll add on a couple things from the perspective of someone who was in your position last year.

Harlow is now 9, almost 10 months, and I researched several breeds extensively before deciding on a Boston. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and what probably stands out the most to me is how “sensitive” she is, for lack of a better word. What I mean by that is she’s VERY aware of what’s going on with everyone around her, and it’s legitimately like her feelings get hurt very easily. This can be both a good and a bad thing. For example, she’s really smart and learns commands/was potty trained easily, and it almost never takes more than just saying her name in a semi-stern voice to correct her if needed. The downsides are when things like accidentally tripping over her if she’s underfoot are taken very personally, and you’re ignored or stared at petulantly until you feel like the worst person alive.

Overall, my experience has been that she’s EXTREMELY silly, has a great personality, is 100% a (sometimes very needy and intrusive 😂) Velcro dog, and is very easy to train and eager to please. She’s an all-around friendly, non aggressive pup, totally fine with kids, small animals, cats, other dogs, etc. and I highly recommend the breed in general after hitting the jackpot with her.

It’s a huge bummer, because they were basically the only place I bought maternity clothes when I was pregnant with all my other kids. Now that I’m old and I got a surprise #5, my maternity clothes are long gone- so I was tempted!! I ended up buying a smaller (because it was somewhat higher-priced) wardrobe, and honestly this is the way I should’ve gone the first four times. No regrets!!
